- Quick Start Guide
Mounting the Timer:
- Choose a suitable indoor or outdoor location near a power outlet and away from direct sunlight or extreme weather.
- Mark the desired mounting points using the timer as a template.
- Drill pilot holes and insert wall anchors if necessary.
- Secure the timer to the wall using the provided screws.
Wiring the Sprinkler Valves:
Connect your sprinkler valve wires to the corresponding terminals on the B-hyve timer. Each station (1-12) corresponds to a specific zone. Ensure the common wire from your valves is connected to the "COMMON" terminal.
- Common Wire: Connect to the terminal labeled "COMMON".
- Zone Wires: Connect each zone wire to its respective numbered terminal (1-12).
- Master Valve/Pump Start (if applicable): Connect to the terminal labeled "MV" or "PUMP".
Power Connection:
Plug the power adapter into the timer's power input port, then plug the adapter into a standard electrical outlet. The timer display should illuminate.
Rain Catch Cup Installation:
The included rain catch cups are used to measure precipitation and help calibrate your sprinkler system for optimal water efficiency. Distribute the 12 cups evenly across your lawn or garden areas, ensuring they are placed in open spaces away from obstructions like trees or buildings that might block rain or sprinkler spray.
- Insert the green stake into the ground until the cup is stable and upright.
- Ensure the top of the cup is level with the ground for accurate measurement.
Operating Instructions
Initial Setup and WiFi Connection:
- Download the "B-hyve" app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Create an account and follow the in-app instructions to add your new B-hyve timer.
- The app will guide you through connecting the timer to your home WiFi network.
Programming Schedules:
The B-hyve system offers flexible programming options via the app or directly on the timer.
- Smart Watering: Utilize the app's smart watering feature, which uses local weather data to automatically adjust watering schedules.
- Manual Programs: Create custom watering schedules with specific start times, run times, and days of the week for each zone.
- Rain Delay: Use the "RAIN DELAY" button on the timer or the app to pause watering for a set period (24, 48, or 72 hours) in anticipation of rain.
Manual Operation:
You can manually run a single zone or all zones directly from the timer or the app.
- On Timer: Navigate to "MANUAL" using the dial, select the zone(s) and desired run time, then press "START".
- Via App: Select the desired zone(s) and initiate a manual run from the app interface.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Periodically wipe the timer's exterior with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the unit in water.
- Winterization: In freezing climates, disconnect the timer from power and drain all water from the system to prevent freeze damage to pipes and valves. Store the timer indoors during winter months.
- Rain Catch Cups: Regularly empty and clean the rain catch cups to ensure accurate readings. Remove any debris that may accumulate inside.
Troubleshooting
