Operating Instructions
Powering On and Initial Access
Once connected to power, the camera will initiate its startup sequence. Access the camera's settings and live feed via its web interface using a web browser on a networked computer. Refer to the camera's network settings for its IP address or use JVC's provided discovery tools.
Pan, Tilt, and Zoom (PTZ) Control
The camera can be controlled remotely using a compatible JVC PTZ controller or through its web interface. Use the directional controls to pan (horizontal movement) and tilt (vertical movement) the camera. Adjust the zoom level using the zoom controls to achieve the desired field of view. The 30x optical zoom allows for significant magnification without loss of quality.
Setting and Recalling Presets
To save a specific camera position (pan, tilt, zoom, and focus settings):
- Manually adjust the camera to the desired position and zoom level.
- Access the preset menu on your controller or web interface.
- Select an available preset number and save the current position.
To recall a saved preset, simply select the corresponding preset number from the menu.
Recording to MicroSD
Ensure a MicroSD card is inserted. Recording can typically be initiated and stopped via the camera's web interface or a connected controller. Recorded files will be stored on the MicroSD card in MP4 format.
Streaming Configuration
The camera supports various streaming protocols. Access the network and streaming settings in the web interface to configure stream resolution, bitrate, and destination (e.g., RTMP server for live streaming platforms). Consult your streaming service provider for specific settings.
Maintenance
- Cleaning the Lens: Use a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for optical lenses. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
- Cleaning the Camera Body: Wipe the camera body with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, but ensure no moisture enters the ports.
- Firmware Updates: Periodically check the JVC website for firmware updates. Keeping the firmware updated ensures optimal performance and access to new features.
- Environmental Conditions: Operate the camera within its specified temperature and humidity ranges. Avoid exposing the camera to extreme conditions, direct sunlight for prolonged periods, or excessive dust.
