4.1. Choosing Ventilation Mode:
The CBCS9201 supports two ventilation modes:
- Ducted (Extraction) Mode: Air is extracted from the kitchen and expelled outside through a ducting system. This mode requires an external vent. The flexible exhaust duct is provided for this purpose.
- Recirculating Mode: Air is filtered through charcoal filters (CBCF002X2, included) to remove odors and then recirculated back into the kitchen. This mode is suitable when external venting is not possible. Ensure charcoal filters are installed for this mode.
4.2. General Installation Steps:
- Preparation: Unpack all components and check for any damage. Ensure you have all necessary tools (drill, level, screwdriver, measuring tape).
- Mounting Location: Determine the optimal mounting height above your cooking surface, typically between 65-75 cm for electric hobs and 75-85 cm for gas hobs. Mark the drilling points using the provided template.
- Wall Mounting: Drill holes, insert wall plugs, and securely attach the mounting brackets to the wall.
- Install Range Hood: Carefully lift and mount the range hood onto the brackets. Ensure it is level and securely fastened.
- Ducting Connection (Ducted Mode): Connect the flexible exhaust duct to the range hood's outlet and route it to the external vent. Ensure the duct is as straight and short as possible to maximize airflow.
- Charcoal Filter Installation (Recirculating Mode): If using recirculation, install the charcoal filters onto the motor housing as per the instructions provided with the filters.
- Chimney Installation: Assemble and attach the adjustable chimney sections, ensuring they cover the ducting and mounting brackets.
- Electrical Connection: Connect the range hood to a suitable power outlet. Ensure the power supply is off during connection.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your range hood.
6.1. Cleaning the Aluminum Grease Filters:
The aluminum grease filters capture airborne grease particles. They should be cleaned regularly (approximately every 2-4 weeks, depending on usage) to maintain efficiency and prevent fire hazards.
- Disconnect Power: Always switch off and unplug the range hood before cleaning.
- Remove Filters: Carefully unlatch and remove the aluminum grease filters from the underside of the hood.
- Clean Filters: Wash the filters by hand in hot soapy water or in a dishwasher. Ensure they are completely dry before re-installation.
- Re-install Filters: Place the dry filters back into their slots and secure the latches.

6.2. Replacing Charcoal Filters (Recirculating Mode Only):
If you are using the range hood in recirculating mode, the charcoal filters (CBCF002X2) absorb cooking odors. These filters are not washable and must be replaced approximately every 3-6 months, depending on usage.
- Disconnect Power: Switch off and unplug the range hood.
- Remove Grease Filters: Remove the aluminum grease filters to access the charcoal filters.
- Remove Old Charcoal Filters: Twist or unclip the old charcoal filters from the motor housing.
- Install New Charcoal Filters: Attach new CBCF002X2 charcoal filters by twisting or clipping them into place.
- Re-install Grease Filters: Replace the aluminum grease filters.

6.3. Cleaning the Exterior:
Wipe the exterior surfaces of the range hood with a soft cloth dampened with mild detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners, steel wool, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the stainless steel finish.
7. Troubleshooting
Before contacting customer support, please refer to the following table for common issues and their solutions.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Range hood does not operate. | No power supply. Power switch is off. | Check if the appliance is plugged in and the circuit breaker is on. Ensure the power knob is turned to the 'on' position. |
| Poor suction performance. | Grease filters are clogged. Charcoal filters are saturated (recirculating mode). Ducting is obstructed or too long/bent. Insufficient room ventilation. | Clean the aluminum grease filters. Replace the charcoal filters (CBCF002X2). Check ducting for obstructions or excessive bends. Ensure windows or doors are slightly open for adequate air intake. |
| LED light not working. | Light switch is off. LED module failure. | Turn the light knob to the 'on' position. Contact customer support for assistance. |
| Excessive noise. | Loose components. Obstruction in fan. Incorrect ducting installation. | Check that all screws and filters are securely fastened. Inspect the fan for any foreign objects. Ensure ducting is properly installed and not vibrating against surfaces. |
