4.2 Operating Modes
The cooker hood supports two operating modes:
- Ducted Mode (Extraction): Air is extracted from the kitchen and expelled outside through a ducting system. This requires an external vent.
- Recirculation Mode (Ductless): Air is filtered through a carbon filter to remove odors and then recirculated back into the kitchen. This mode requires the purchase and installation of a CBCF001 carbon filter.

Figure 4.3: Illustration of the two operating modes: Recirculation (left) and Extraction (right).
5. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your cooker hood. Always disconnect the appliance from the power supply before cleaning or performing maintenance.
5.1 Cleaning the Metal Grease Filters
The metal grease filters trap grease particles from cooking fumes. They should be cleaned regularly to prevent grease buildup and maintain extraction efficiency.
- Frequency: Depending on usage, clean every 2-4 weeks.
- Removal: Push the filter latch/handle and pull down the filter.
- Cleaning Method: The filters can be washed by hand in hot soapy water or in a dishwasher. For hand washing, use a soft brush to remove stubborn grease. Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry completely before re-installing.
- Re-installation: Insert the filter back into its slot and push until it clicks into place.
5.2 Replacing Carbon Filters (Recirculation Mode Only)
If using recirculation mode, the carbon filters absorb odors and need periodic replacement as they cannot be washed.
- Frequency: Replace every 3-6 months, depending on usage.
- Type: Use CIARRA CBCF001 carbon filter.
- Replacement: Remove the metal grease filters first. Twist the old carbon filter to unlock and remove it. Place the new carbon filter onto the motor housing and twist to lock it in place. Re-install the metal grease filters.
5.3 Cleaning the Exterior
- Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft cloth dampened with mild detergent.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners, corrosive detergents, or metal brushes, as these can damage the stainless steel finish.
- Dry thoroughly with a clean, dry cloth.
5.4 Replacing the LED Light
The cooker hood is equipped with a 2W LED light. If replacement is needed, contact qualified service personnel.
6. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|

| Poor extraction performance | Clogged grease filters | Clean the metal grease filters. |
| Poor extraction performance | Saturated carbon filters (recirculation mode) | Replace the carbon filters. |
| Poor extraction performance | Improper ducting (ducted mode) | Ensure ducting is correctly installed, not kinked, and of adequate diameter. |
| Excessive noise | Loose components or improper installation | Check all screws and mounting points are secure. Ensure filters are correctly seated. |
| Light not working | Faulty LED light | Contact customer support for replacement. |
