1. Safety Instructions

Battery Tool Use and Care

  • Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with another battery pack.
  • Use power tools only with specifically designated battery packs. Use of any other battery packs may create a risk of injury and fire.
  • When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects, that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.

3. Setup

3.1 Charging the Battery

  1. Connect the charger to a suitable power outlet.
  2. Insert the 12V - 1.5Ah Li-Ion battery into the charger. Ensure it is securely seated.
  3. Allow the battery to charge fully before first use. Refer to the charger's indicator lights for charging status.
  4. Once charged, remove the battery from the charger.

3.2 Installing Accessories

The tool features a spindle lock for easy and quick accessory changes.

  1. Ensure the tool is switched off and the battery is removed for safety.
  2. Press and hold the spindle lock button located near the collet.
  3. While holding the spindle lock, use the included wrench to loosen the collet nut.
  4. Insert the desired accessory shank into the collet. Ensure the shank is fully inserted.
  5. Tighten the collet nut firmly with the wrench while still holding the spindle lock button.
  6. Release the spindle lock button. The accessory should now be securely installed.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Powering On/Off

  1. Insert the charged battery into the tool handle until it clicks into place.
  2. To turn the tool ON, slide the power switch to the 'ON' position.
  3. To turn the tool OFF, slide the power switch to the 'OFF' position.

4.2 Variable Speed Control

The FERM CTM1016 features variable speed control, allowing you to adjust the rotational speed to suit the specific task and material. This ensures optimal performance and prevents damage to the workpiece or accessory.

  • Locate the speed adjustment dial on the tool body.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your FERM CTM1016 rotary tool.

5.1 Cleaning the Tool

  • Always disconnect the battery before cleaning.
