Image Quality Settings

The camera offers excellent JPEG image quality with various Film Simulation modes (e.g., Velvia, Acros, Classic Chrome) for creative effects. For maximum control over image quality and post-processing, shoot in RAW mode. This captures more data from the 24.3-megapixel sensor, allowing for greater flexibility during editing.

Advanced Features

4K Video Recording

The X-T20 is capable of recording 4K video at up to 30 frames per second (30p). Utilize the tilting LCD screen to compose your shots and set focus during video recording. You can also output recorded video to an external monitor via the HDMI port and input audio from an external microphone.

Wi-Fi Connectivity

The camera features built-in Wi-Fi. Download the Fujifilm Camera Remote mobile app to connect your X-T20 to your smartphone or tablet. This allows for quick image transfer directly from the camera to your device for sharing, as well as remote control of the camera.

Maintenance

Cleaning

  • Camera Body: Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a cloth lightly dampened with water or lens cleaner.
  • Lens: Use a lens blower to remove dust, then gently wipe with a microfiber lens cloth. Avoid touching the glass directly.
  • Sensor: Sensor cleaning should be performed by a qualified service technician to avoid damage.

Battery Care

To prolong battery life, avoid exposing the battery to extreme temperatures. Store batteries in a cool, dry place when not in use. Fully charge batteries before extended storage and recharge every six months.

Storage

When storing the camera for extended periods, remove the battery and memory card. Store the camera in a dry, well-ventilated area, ideally in a camera bag with desiccant packs to prevent moisture buildup.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Fujifilm X-T20, consider the following common solutions:

  • Camera not powering on: Ensure the battery is charged and correctly inserted.
  • Memory card error: Check if the memory card is inserted correctly and is not full or corrupted. Try reformatting the card (this will erase all data).
  • Autofocus issues: Ensure the lens is properly attached and the AF mode is suitable for your subject. Clean lens contacts if necessary.
  • Image quality concerns: Check your shooting mode and image quality settings (JPEG/RAW, ISO, aperture, shutter speed).

For more complex issues, refer to the detailed troubleshooting section in the full user manual or contact Fujifilm support.
