Hatching Process

The hatching process is the first exciting step in your Hatchimal's journey. It requires your interaction and care.

  1. Initial Interaction: While your Hatchimal is still in its egg, hold it, rub it, and tap on it. You will hear heartbeats and sounds from inside. Your Hatchimal will tap back when you tap the egg.
  2. Rainbow Eyes: When you see rainbow-colored eyes glowing through the eggshell, your Hatchimal is ready to hatch. This is the signal to encourage it.
  3. Encourage Hatching: Continue to hold and rub the egg. Your Hatchimal will begin to peck at the shell. Your touch encourages it to peck more vigorously.
  4. Emergence: The Hatchimal will peck its way out of the egg. This process can take some time and is part of the interactive experience.
  5. Shell Removal: Once the Hatchimal has pecked enough to create an opening, gently help it out of the remaining shell. Keep the bottom part of the egg as a nest for your Hatchimal.

Raising Your Hatchimal: Life Stages

After hatching, your Hatchimal will progress through three distinct life stages: Baby, Toddler, and Kid. Each stage unlocks new interactions and abilities.

Stage 1: Baby

In the Baby stage, your Hatchimal needs lots of nurturing. It will make baby sounds and react to your touch. Pet its head, rub its belly, and listen to its responses. Its eyes will change color to indicate its mood or needs.

Stage 2: Toddler

As a Toddler, your Hatchimal becomes more active. It will start to learn to walk and talk. You can teach it by guiding its movements and repeating words. It will also play simple games.

Stage 3: Kid

In the Kid stage, your Hatchimal is fully developed. It can walk, talk, dance, and play more complex games. Continue to interact with it to keep it happy and engaged. Refer to the included Reference Guide for a full list of games and interactions.

Maintenance

Cleaning

To clean your Hatchimal, gently wipe it with a slightly damp cloth. Do not submerge it in water or use harsh cleaning agents, as this can damage the electronic components.

Battery Replacement

Your Hatchimal requires 2 AA batteries. When the Hatchimal's responses become weak or it stops functioning, it's time to replace the batteries.

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the bottom of your Hatchimal.
  2. Using a Phillips head screwdriver, unscrew the battery compartment cover.
  3. Remove the old batteries and dispose of them properly.
  4. Insert 2 new AA alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  5. Replace the battery compartment cover and secure it with the screw.
