Setup
1. Battery Installation
The Olympus VN-541PC requires two AAA batteries for operation. These are typically included with the device.

3. Connecting to a Computer

- Ensure the voice recorder is powered on.
- Connect one end of the micro USB cable to the micro USB port on the side of the VN-541PC.
- Connect the other end of the USB cable to an available USB port on your computer.
- The device will be recognized as a removable storage device, allowing you to access and manage your recorded files.
Operating Instructions
1. Recording
The VN-541PC features a convenient one-touch recording function.
- To start recording, simply slide the REC switch (located on the front of the device, often red or orange) upwards. The device will begin recording immediately, even if it was previously powered off.
- The recording indicator (usually a red LED or an icon on the display) will illuminate, and the recording time will be displayed on the screen.
- To stop recording, slide the REC switch downwards to its original position. The recording will be saved automatically.

2. Recording Scenes (Modes)
The VN-541PC offers optimized settings for various recording situations. Files are sorted by recording scene for easier searching.
- MEMO: Ideal for short notes and personal reminders.
- TALK: Optimized for recording conversations or lectures in a room.
- MUSIC: Best for capturing music or broader soundscapes, offering higher fidelity. Note: The Low-cut Filter is turned off in this mode.
- LP (Long Play): Designed for extended recording sessions where file size is a primary concern, at the expense of some audio quality.
To select a recording scene, navigate through the menu using the directional buttons and confirm your selection.

3. Playback
To play back a recorded file:
- Ensure the device is not in recording mode.
- Use the navigation buttons (often marked with arrows or fast-forward/rewind symbols) to select the desired file from the list.
- Press the Play/Stop button (often marked with a triangle) to start playback.
- Adjust the volume using the + and - buttons.
- Press the Play/Stop button again to pause or stop playback.
4. Noise Cancellation Function
The noise-cancellation function reduces unwanted ambient noise during playback, such as air conditioner or projector fan noise, for clearer audio.
- To activate or deactivate noise cancellation, long press the Noise Cancel button (often marked with a speaker icon and a diagonal line) while the recorder is stopped or playing a file.

5. Low-Cut Filter
The Low-cut Filter efficiently eliminates lower-frequency noise like air conditioners, projectors, and outdoor wind, resulting in clearer voice recordings.
- For the VN-541PC, the Low-cut Filter is always turned on by default, except when the MUSIC recording scene is selected.
