Maintenance

1. Water Resistance

The GA-700-4A is water resistant to 200 meters (20 BAR). This means it is suitable for recreational scuba diving. Do not operate buttons while the watch is submerged in water. After exposure to saltwater, rinse the watch with fresh water and wipe it dry.

2. Cleaning

Wipe the watch with a soft, dry cloth to remove dirt and moisture. For stubborn dirt, use a soft cloth dampened with water and a mild neutral detergent, then wipe dry. Avoid using volatile agents like thinner or benzine, as they may damage the resin components.

3. Battery Replacement

The watch is powered by a specific button cell battery. When the display becomes dim or the light function weakens, it is an indication that the battery needs replacement. Battery replacement should be performed by an authorized Casio service center to ensure water resistance and proper function are maintained. Refer to official Casio documentation for specific battery model.

4. Shock Resistance

This watch is designed with G-Shock's renowned shock resistance. While highly durable, avoid subjecting it to excessive impact or dropping it from significant heights to preserve its integrity.

Troubleshooting

  • Incorrect Time Display:

Ensure your home city code and DST settings are correct. If analog hands are out of sync with the digital time, perform a hand alignment procedure (refer to the full Casio module manual for detailed steps, typically involves holding specific buttons in Timekeeping Mode).

  • Digital Display is Dim or Blank:

This may indicate a low battery. Arrange for battery replacement at an authorized service center.

  • Buttons are Unresponsive:

Ensure the watch is not in a mode that locks button operations. If the issue persists, a full reset might be necessary (consult the comprehensive Casio manual for your specific module number, usually found on the watch back). Note that a full reset will erase all settings.
