Maintenance

Filter Media Replacement

Regular replacement of filter media is crucial for maintaining optimal water quality.

  • Replace the Activated Carbon Insert every 2-4 weeks.
  • Replace the BioMax Insert every 2-3 months.
  • To ensure constant presence of beneficial bacteria, do not replace all filtration media at the same time.

Water Changes

Perform regular partial water changes (e.g., 25% weekly) to remove accumulated nitrates and replenish essential minerals.

The easy feed top cover opening and removable lid facilitate convenient access for maintenance.

Troubleshooting

Reduced Water Flow

  • Check the circulation pump for blockages or debris. Clean the pump and impeller if necessary.
  • Ensure filter media is not excessively clogged. Replace mechanical filter media (foam) if heavily soiled.

LED Remote Not Responding

  • Check the battery in the FLEXPad remote.
  • Ensure the infrared remote sensor on the canopy is clear of obstructions.

Water Discoloration or Odor

  • Replace the Activated Carbon Insert.
  • Perform a partial water change.
  • Check for decaying organic matter (e.g., uneaten food, dead plants/fish) and remove it.
