Safety Information
WARNING: Improper fitting or misuse will reduce the effectiveness of earplugs and could result in hearing loss or permanent injury!
HEAT EXPOSURE WARNING:
Excessive heat can deform the earplugs/earpieces. Do not leave in a hot car, direct sunlight, or anywhere that excessive heat may expose them to temperatures above 120°F (49°C). This could cause the molds to melt and your Decibullz can become damaged.
Remove all ear piercings before molding earpieces. Piercings may become fixed to the molding material. If the tip becomes dislodged in the ear canal, seek medical attention from an Ear, Nose, and Throat Doctor ONLY.

Setup: Custom Molding Process
The Decibullz earplugs feature an easy shape system that allows you to custom mold them to your ears for a perfect fit. Follow these steps carefully:
Materials Needed for Molding:
- Glass or Ceramic Cups (to heat water)
- Boiling Water
- Timer
- Mirror (recommended)
Molding Steps:
- Heat Water: Bring 3 to 4 inches of water to a boil in a kettle or microwave. If using a microwave, fill two glass or ceramic cups with 3 to 4 inches of water and bring to a boil.
- Prepare Molds: Attach the smallest silicone tip to one of the molds. Do not use foam tips for molding. Ensure the tip is securely attached.
- Heat Molds: Place ONE mold in a cup of boiling water. Molds will stick together if placed/heated in the same cup. Let the molds sit in the hot water for 5 minutes.
- Cool Molds: Remove the mold from the hot water using a metal spoon and let it cool for 30 seconds. Test the temperature; it should be warm and pliable, not too hot to handle.
- Shape to Ear: Insert the earpiece/mold into your ear. Then, firmly press on the back plug, ensuring the tip fits tightly in the ear canal. Gently shape the mold to your unique ear contour. Use a mirror to ensure the tip is aligned and inserted deep enough.
- Set Shape: Leave the mold in your ear for 5 minutes to allow it to harden and retain its new form.
- Repeat: Repeat the molding process for the other ear.
Re-moldable: If you don't get the perfect fit the first time, Decibullz are the only custom earplugs that are re-moldable. Simply reheat and reshape as often as needed for fit and comfort.

Operating Instructions
Inserting Your Earplugs:
After molding, ensure the earplugs are fully cooled and firm. Gently insert the custom-molded earplug into your ear, ensuring the tip is securely seated in the ear canal and the molded part fits snugly against your outer ear. The custom fit prevents them from falling out and provides optimal noise isolation.
Choosing the Right Tips:
- Max Isolation Foam Tips (Medium): Provides 31dB NRR (Noise Reduction Rating), ideal for environments requiring maximum sound dampening.
- Triple Flange Silicone Tips (S, M, L): Provides 24dB NRR, suitable for general use and can be interchanged with other Decibullz Thermofit products.
Recommended Uses:
Decibullz Custom Molded Earplugs are suitable for a wide range of activities where hearing protection is essential:
- Shooting and Hunting
- Travel (e.g., airplanes, noisy environments)
- Work (e.g., construction, industrial settings)
- Loud Concerts and Events
- Swimming (ensure a tight seal)

Maintenance
How to Clean Earpieces:
Wash with mild soap and warm water, rinse, and let them dry completely. Regular cleaning helps maintain hygiene and the effectiveness of your earplugs.
Inspect Earpieces:
Before each use, inspect your earplugs closely for any wear or damage. If you have a hole in your eardrum, do not place anything in your ear canal. If there is any drainage from your ear, do not use earplugs and consult a doctor.
Troubleshooting
Not Getting a Perfect Fit:
If the mold is not fully softened, or you feel the center of the mold is still firm, place the mold in hot water for another minute or so until fully pliable. Remember, Decibullz earplugs are re-moldable, so you can repeat the heating and shaping process until you achieve the desired fit.
Tip Becomes Dislodged:
If the tip becomes dislodged in the ear canal, seek medical attention from an Ear, Nose, and Throat Doctor ONLY. Do not attempt to remove it yourself if it is deeply lodged.
