1. Product Overview
PRESTIGE Paints Ultra Premium Acrylic Latex Interior Paint is designed as a paint and primer in one. It is suitable for properly prepared uncoated drywall, stucco, plaster, or previously painted interior surfaces. This paint is an ideal choice for various rooms including living rooms, family rooms, media rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, kitchens, and hallways.
The flat finish provides a smooth, uniform look, making it an excellent option for formal rooms and ceilings. Flat finishes help to conceal surface imperfections such as dents, nail holes, or patches. They often require fewer coats than semi-gloss and gloss paints and are easier to touch up.
Key Features:
- Self-primes over properly prepared uncoated drywall, stucco, plaster, or previously painted interior surfaces.
- Smooth application.
- 100% Acrylic latex paint for easy soap and water clean-up.
- Low VOC: less than 5 g/l prior to tinting.
2. Safety Information
Always read and follow all safety instructions on the paint can label before use. Ensure adequate ventilation during application and drying. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including gloves and eye protection, to prevent skin and eye contact. Avoid prolonged breathing of vapors. In case of contact, flush immediately with plenty of water. If irritation persists, seek medical attention. Dispose of paint and related materials according to local regulations.

4. Setup and Surface Preparation
Proper surface preparation is crucial for optimal paint adhesion and finish quality.
- Remove Loose Paint: Ensure all loose or peeling paint is removed from the surface.
- Clean Surface: Clean the surface thoroughly with a detergent to remove dirt, grease, and other contaminants. Rinse well to remove all soap residue and allow to dry completely.
- Scuff Sand Glossy Surfaces: For glossy surfaces, scuff sand to create a profile for better adhesion.
- Repair Imperfections: Repair all cracks and holes. Sand smooth when dry.
- Remove Dust: Remove any sanding dust with a damp cloth and allow to dry.
- Cure New Plaster: New plaster must be properly cured before painting.
- Prime Specific Surfaces:
- For stained or glossy surfaces, use a stain-blocking primer sealer.
- New wood surfaces may require an oil-based primer/sealer.
- For metal surfaces, use an appropriate rust primer.
5. Opening the Paint Can
Follow these steps to safely open your paint can:
- Remove Cardboard Circle: Lift the cardboard circle from the top of the lid to reveal the color dab and verify it matches your ordered color.
- Remove Metal Clips: Use the provided lid opener tool or a household screwdriver to carefully pry off the metal clips securing the lid.

6. Application
Before applying, stir or mix the paint thoroughly. If using multiple containers of the same color, intermix them to ensure color uniformity. Apply the paint as is with a high-quality applicator such as a 3/8-inch nap roller cover, brush, or pad painter. Thin sparingly with water if necessary for spraying applications.
Average coverage is 250-400 sq. ft. (approximately 23-37 square meters) per gallon (3.78 L).
7. Drying and Recoating
The paint dries to the touch in approximately one hour. If a second coat is necessary, allow at least four hours before recoating.
8. Cleanup
Clean tools and spills immediately with warm water and soap.
9. Maintenance
After 14 days, the painted surface can be gently cleaned with a non-abrasive cleaner.
10. Troubleshooting
- Color Variation: Actual paint colors may vary from on-screen and printer representations. Color can also vary due to sheen, light, surface, and application method.
- Insufficient Hide: Certain colors may require more than one coat for complete hide, especially over contrasting previous colors.
