Introduction
The Power Probe TEMPKIT is a dual-zone digital thermometer designed for accurate and convenient temperature measurement. It features a main display unit and a wireless remote temperature sensor, allowing for simultaneous monitoring of two distinct areas. This kit is ideal for automotive, HVAC, and other applications requiring precise temperature readings in both Fahrenheit and Celsius.
Product Overview
The TEMPKIT includes the following components:
- Digital Thermometer Main Unit: This unit features a bright backlit LCD display for clear temperature readings, control buttons for unit selection and backlight, and a built-in temperature sensor.
- Wireless Remote Temperature Sensor: A compact, wireless sensor designed to transmit temperature data to the main unit. It includes an ON/OFF switch and a clip for easy placement.

Setup
1. Battery Installation
Both the main unit and the wireless remote sensor require batteries for operation. Locate the battery compartments on the back of each device. Insert the correct battery type (typically AAA, refer to product packaging for specifics) ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Securely close the battery compartments.
2. Powering On
For the main unit, press the power button. For the wireless remote sensor, slide the ON/OFF switch to the 'ON' position. The main unit will automatically attempt to connect with the remote sensor.
3. Sensor Placement
Place the wireless remote sensor in the area where you wish to measure the temperature. The sensor features a clip for easy attachment to vents, grilles, or other suitable locations. Ensure the sensor is within the wireless range of the main unit for optimal performance.
Operation
1. Reading Temperatures
Once powered on and connected, the main unit's bright backlit LCD will display two temperature readings:
- The top reading typically represents the temperature detected by the main unit's internal sensor (e.g., ambient temperature where the main unit is located).
- The bottom reading displays the temperature transmitted by the wireless remote sensor.

2. Switching Temperature Units (°C/°F)
To toggle between Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C), locate the dedicated '°C/°F' button on the main unit. Press this button to switch the display to your preferred unit of measurement. Both readings will update accordingly.
3. Backlight Control
The main unit features a bright backlit LCD for visibility in various lighting conditions. Press the backlight button (often indicated by a sun or lightbulb icon) to activate or deactivate the backlight.

Maintenance
Cleaning
Wipe the devices with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the plastic casing or electronic components. Ensure the devices are dry before storage or next use.
Battery Replacement
When the display becomes dim or the wireless connection is unstable, it may be time to replace the batteries. Follow the battery installation steps outlined in the Setup section.
Storage
Store the TEMPKIT in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for extended periods, it is recommended to remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
Troubleshooting
- No Display/Dim Display: Check battery installation and replace batteries if necessary. Ensure the device is powered on.
- Wireless Sensor Not Connecting/Signal Dropping:
- Ensure the remote sensor is powered on and within range of the main unit.
- Replace batteries in the remote sensor.
- Minimize obstructions between the main unit and the sensor.
- Inaccurate Readings:
- Ensure sensors are not exposed to direct heat sources or extreme cold that could skew readings.
- Allow time for the temperature to stabilize, especially after moving the sensor to a new environment.
- Check battery levels.
