2. Setup
2.1 Unboxing
Your Orient Bambino watch is carefully packaged to ensure its protection during transit. Upon receiving, gently open the watch box.

2.2 Initial Winding
As an automatic watch, your Bambino is powered by the motion of your wrist. If the watch has stopped, it requires an initial manual wind to start the movement. To manually wind the watch, rotate the crown clockwise approximately 20-30 times while it is in the normal (pushed-in) position. This will build up enough power reserve to start the watch.
2.3 Setting Time and Date
- Pull the crown out to the first click position to set the date. Rotate the crown either clockwise or counter-clockwise until the desired date is displayed.
- Pull the crown out to the second click position to set the time. The second hand will stop (hacking feature). Rotate the crown to move the hour and minute hands to the correct time. Ensure you set the correct AM/PM by observing if the date changes when passing midnight.
- Once the time and date are set, push the crown back into the normal position to engage the movement and ensure water resistance.

3. Operating Your Watch
3.1 Automatic Movement
The Orient Bambino features a Japanese automatic movement (Caliber F6724). This movement is self-winding, meaning it gains power from the natural motion of your arm while wearing the watch. When fully wound, the watch has a power reserve of approximately 40 hours. If the watch is not worn for an extended period, it will stop and require manual winding as described in the Setup section.
3.2 Wearing the Watch
Ensure the watch is securely fastened to your wrist. The leather strap should be comfortable, not too tight or too loose, to allow for proper automatic winding and comfort.

4. Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning
To maintain the appearance of your watch, wipe the case and crystal with a soft, dry cloth regularly. For the leather strap, use a damp cloth to gently clean it, then allow it to air dry completely. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
4.2 Water Resistance
This watch has a water resistance rating of 100 feet (approximately 30 meters). This rating indicates that the watch is suitable for everyday use and can withstand splashes or brief immersion in water, such as washing hands or light rain. It is not suitable for swimming, showering, or diving. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in to maintain water resistance.
4.3 Leather Strap Care
The leather strap is a natural material and can be affected by moisture, sweat, and direct sunlight. To prolong its life, avoid prolonged exposure to water and direct sunlight. If the strap becomes wet, dry it thoroughly before wearing. Consider rotating watches to allow the strap to breathe and recover.

5. Troubleshooting
5.1 Watch Not Running
- Insufficient Winding: If the watch has not been worn for a while, it may have run out of power reserve. Manually wind the watch by rotating the crown clockwise 20-30 times.
- Crown Position: Ensure the crown is fully pushed in. If it is pulled out, the movement will not engage.
5.2 Date Not Changing
- Incorrect Time Setting: The date mechanism is linked to the 24-hour cycle. If the time is set incorrectly (e.g., AM/PM confusion), the date may change at noon instead of midnight. Adjust the time accordingly.
- Quick-Set Mechanism: Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this can interfere with the date change mechanism and potentially damage it.
5.3 Accuracy Issues
Automatic mechanical watches are not as precise as quartz watches. A deviation of +/- 15-25 seconds per day is generally considered acceptable for this type of movement. Factors like temperature, position, and activity level can affect accuracy. If you experience significant deviations outside this range, consult a qualified watchmaker.
