5. Maintenance
5.1. General Care
- Clean your watch regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a soft brush and mild soap solution, then rinse thoroughly and dry.
- Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight for prolonged periods, or strong magnetic fields.
- Do not operate buttons while the watch is wet or submerged to maintain water resistance.
5.2. Water Resistance
Your GA-700-1B watch is rated for 200-meter water resistance. This means it is suitable for recreational diving (not SCUBA), swimming, and showering. However, avoid using the watch in hot water or saunas, as this can compromise the seals.
5.3. Battery Replacement
The watch uses a single Lithium Metal battery. When the display becomes dim or functions become unreliable, it is time to replace the battery. It is recommended to have the battery replaced by an authorized Casio service center to ensure proper water resistance sealing and function.
6. Troubleshooting
- Digital display is blank or dim: The battery may be low. Replace the battery.
- Analog hands do not match digital time: Perform a hand alignment correction as described in Section 3.2.
- Watch is not keeping accurate time: Ensure your Home City and DST settings are correct. If the issue persists, the battery may be low or the watch may require servicing.
- Buttons are unresponsive: Ensure the watch is not wet. If the issue continues, the watch may require servicing.
- No sound from alarm/hourly signal: Check if the alarm/hourly signal is enabled in Alarm Mode.
