Setup
1. Package Contents
Before you begin, ensure all components are present:
- Gigaset A450 Handset
- Base Station
- Power Adapter for Base Station
- Telephone Line Cord
- 2 x AAA Rechargeable Batteries

2. Battery Installation
- Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the handset.
- Insert the two AAA rechargeable batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
3. Connecting the Base Station
- Connect the power adapter to the base station and plug it into a wall outlet.
- Connect the telephone line cord to the base station and plug the other end into your telephone wall jack.
- Place the base station on a flat, stable surface, away from other electronic devices that may cause interference.
4. Initial Charging
Place the handset on the base station. The handset display will indicate charging. For optimal battery performance, allow the handset to charge continuously for approximately 14 hours before its first use, even if the display shows a full charge earlier.
5. Handset Registration (Plug and Play)
The handset is typically pre-registered to the base station. Simply place the handset on the base for charging, and it should automatically connect. If the handset displays "Searching" or requires registration, refer to the troubleshooting section or the detailed manual for manual registration steps.
Operating Instructions
1. Making and Receiving Calls
- Making a Call: Press the green call key, then dial the number. Alternatively, dial the number first and then press the green call key.
- Receiving a Call: When the phone rings, press the green call key to answer.
- Ending a Call: Press the red end call key.
- Speakerphone: During a call, press the speakerphone button to activate or deactivate the speakerphone function.
2. Phonebook
The phonebook can store up to 50 entries. To access, add, or edit entries, navigate through the menu using the navigation keys and follow the on-screen prompts.
3. Redial List
The phone stores the last 10 dialed numbers. Press the redial key (usually the green call key when not in a call) to access the list and select a number to redial.
4. Caller ID and Missed Calls
The display shows the caller's number (if available and subscribed to Caller ID service). The phone stores a list of the last 20 missed calls. Access this list via the menu to view details and call back.
5. Alarm Clock
Set an alarm through the handset's menu. Navigate to the 'Alarm Clock' option and configure the time and activation status.
6. Keypad Protection
To prevent accidental dialing, you can activate keypad protection by long-pressing the '#' key. Repeat the action to deactivate.
7. Paging Function
If you misplace your handset, you can use the paging function to locate it. Press the paging button on the base station, and the handset will ring.

8. Cordless Range
