Setup
1. Installing Batteries
The Instax Mini 26 requires two CR2 batteries. Open the battery compartment cover, insert the batteries according to the polarity indicators, and close the cover securely.
2. Loading Film
- Open the film compartment door on the back of the camera.
- Align the yellow mark on the film pack with the yellow mark on the camera.
- Insert the film pack straight into the compartment. Do not press the two rectangular holes on the back of the film pack.
- Close the film compartment door. The film counter will display 'S' (Start).
- Press the shutter button once to eject the black film cover. The film counter will then show '10', indicating 10 exposures remaining.

Operating the Camera
1. Powering On/Off
Press the power button (usually a red button or a switch near the lens) to turn the camera on. The lens will extend. Press it again to turn off the camera and retract the lens.
2. Taking a Photo
- Turn on the camera.
- Look through the viewfinder to frame your shot.
- Press one of the two shutter buttons (one for horizontal, one for vertical shooting) to take a picture. The photo will be ejected from the top slot.

3. Lighten-Darken Control
Use the Lighten-Darken Control buttons to adjust the brightness of your prints. This feature allows you to make the print finish brighter or darker depending on the lighting conditions and desired effect.
4. Selfie Mirror and Close-up Lens
The camera includes a selfie mirror mounted on the lens for easy self-portraits. For detailed close-up shots, attach the included close-up lens. This allows you to focus on subjects as close as 35 cm.

5. Automatic Exposure Compensation
The Instax Mini 26 features built-in automatic exposure compensation, which helps capture the right amount of light in most shooting situations, including low lighting conditions.

- Keep the lens clean using a soft, dry cloth. Avoid touching the lens directly.
- Store the camera in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
