Setup
1. Charging the Devices
Both the remote transmitter and collar receiver are rechargeable. Use the provided charger to fully charge both units before first use. A full charge typically takes approximately 2 hours.
- Connect the charger to a power outlet.
- Attach the charging clips to the charging ports on both the remote and the collar.
- The indicator lights will show charging status (refer to specific light patterns in the full manual for details).
2. Attaching Contact Points
Select the appropriate contact points (5/8 inch or 3/4 inch) based on your dog's coat length. Longer contact points are generally needed for dogs with thicker coats to ensure proper contact with the skin.
- Screw the chosen contact points firmly onto the collar receiver.
- Ensure they are securely fastened to prevent loss during use.
3. Fitting the Collar
Proper collar fit is crucial for consistent and effective stimulation. The collar should be snug enough for the contact points to make reliable contact with the dog's skin, but not so tight as to cause discomfort or restrict breathing.
- Position the collar receiver on the dog's neck, centered below the chin or on the side of the neck.
- Ensure the contact points are touching the skin. You should be able to fit one or two fingers snugly between the strap and your dog's neck.
- The 33-inch biothane bungee comfort strap can be cut to size for a custom fit.
- This collar is suitable for dogs weighing 10 lbs and up, with neck sizes ranging from 9 to 25 inches.
Operating Instructions
1. Power On/Off
- Remote: Press and hold the On/Off button until the LCD screen illuminates. To turn off, press and hold the On/Off button until the screen turns off.
- Collar: Press and hold the On/Off button on the receiver until the indicator light flashes. To turn off, press and hold until the light turns off.
2. Adjusting Stimulation Levels
The ET-400 offers 100 levels of static stimulation and 60 boost stimulation levels. Vibration and tone are also available.
- Use the dial on the remote to adjust the static stimulation level from 0 to 100. The current level is displayed on the LCD screen.
- The remote features flush-mounted buttons for quick access to different modes.
3. Safety Lock-and-Set Feature
The patented "lock-and-set" safety feature prevents accidental changes to the stimulation level, ensuring consistent and safe training. Once a level is set, it requires a specific action to change, preventing unintended over-stimulation.
4. LED Night Light
The collar receiver includes an LED night light for enhanced visibility during low-light conditions or night training sessions. Refer to the full manual for instructions on activating and changing light modes.
5. Using the PetsTEK Training Clicker
The included PetsTEK training clicker can be used for positive reinforcement training. Pair the clicker with rewards to mark desired behaviors.

Battery Care
- Charge the devices regularly, especially if they will be stored for an extended period.
- Avoid fully depleting the battery frequently to prolong its lifespan.

Both the remote transmitter and the collar receiver are fully waterproof. The remote is designed to float. However, ensure charging ports are dry before connecting the charger.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Collar not responding to remote | Low battery on either device; devices not paired; out of range. | Charge both units. Ensure devices are powered on and within range. Refer to pairing instructions in the full manual if necessary. |
| No stimulation felt | Poor contact with dog's skin; stimulation level too low; contact points too short. | Adjust collar fit. Increase stimulation level gradually. Use longer contact points for thick-coated dogs. |
| Short battery life | Battery degradation over time; frequent use of high stimulation levels. | Ensure full charging cycles. Contact customer support if battery life significantly decreases. |
