This manual provides instructions for the installation, programming, and operation of your Orbit 4-Station Indoor Sprinkler Timer, Model 57874. This device is designed to automate your irrigation system, providing efficient watering for up to four independent zones.

Setup
1. Mounting the Timer
- Choose an indoor location near a 120V AC electrical outlet and away from direct sunlight or extreme temperatures.
- Use the provided mounting template (if included) or hold the timer against the wall and mark the desired screw locations.
- Drill pilot holes at the marked locations. Insert wall anchors if mounting into drywall.
- Secure the timer to the wall using the provided screws.

2. Wiring the Timer
Before wiring, ensure the timer is unplugged from the power outlet.
- Connect Valve Wires: Connect one wire from each sprinkler valve to a numbered terminal (1, 2, 3, 4) on the timer's terminal strip.
- Connect Common Wire: Connect the common wire from your sprinkler valves to the terminal labeled 'COM'. This wire is typically white.
- Master Valve/Pump (Optional): If your system includes a master valve or pump start relay, connect one wire from it to the terminal labeled 'MV' or 'PUMP'.
- Rain Sensor (Optional): If using a rain sensor, connect its wires to the 'SENSOR' terminals. Refer to your rain sensor's manual for specific wiring instructions. Ensure the sensor bypass switch (if present) is set correctly.
- Connect Power: Plug the timer's power cord into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet.

Operating Instructions
The timer features a large LCD display and a rotary dial for easy programming. Use the arrow buttons (+, -, <, >) and the ENTER button to navigate and confirm selections.
1. Setting Current Time and Date
- Turn the dial to DATE/CLOCK.
- The year will flash. Use the + or - buttons to adjust, then press ENTER.
- Repeat for month, day, hour, and minute. Select AM/PM if in 12-hour format.
2. Programming Watering Schedules (Programs A and B)
The timer allows for two independent programs (A and B) to manage different watering needs.
Set Start Times
- Turn the dial to START TIME.
- Use the + or - buttons to set the desired start time for Program A, then press ENTER.
- You can set up to 4 start times per program. To set additional start times, press ENTER again and repeat the process.
- To switch to Program B, press the PROGRAM A-B button.
Set Run Times (Duration)
- Turn the dial to RUN TIME.
- The display will show 'ZONE 1'. Use + or - to set the watering duration for Zone 1 (from 1 to 240 minutes), then press ENTER.
- Repeat for Zones 2, 3, and 4.
- To switch to Program B, press the PROGRAM A-B button.
Set How Often (Watering Days)
- Turn the dial to HOW OFTEN.
- You can choose from three options:
- Specific Days of the Week: Use the > button to move to each day. Press ENTER to select or deselect a day.
- Odd/Even Days: Use the + or - buttons to select 'ODD' or 'EVEN'.
- Interval Watering: Use the + or - buttons to set an interval (e.g., every 2 days).
- Press ENTER to confirm your selection.
- To switch to Program B, press the PROGRAM A-B button.
3. Automatic Operation
After programming, turn the dial to AUTO. The timer will now operate your sprinkler system according to your set schedule.
4. Manual Operation
To manually water a zone or all zones:
- Turn the dial to AUTO.
- Press the MANUAL button. The display will show 'ALL ZONES'.
- To water all zones, press ENTER. All zones will water for their programmed run times.
- To water a single zone, press the > button to select the desired zone, then press ENTER. The selected zone will water for its programmed run time.
- To stop manual watering, press the CLEAR button.
5. Rain Delay
The Rain Delay feature allows you to pause your watering schedule for a set period without losing your program settings.
- Turn the dial to AUTO.
- Press the RAIN DELAY button.
- Use the + or - buttons to select the delay duration (24, 48, or 72 hours).
- Press ENTER to activate the rain delay. The display will show the remaining delay time.
- To cancel the rain delay, press the RAIN DELAY button again.
6. Seasonal Adjust (Budget)
The Seasonal Adjust feature allows you to increase or decrease watering duration for all zones in a program by a percentage, without reprogramming individual run times.
- Turn the dial to BUDGET.
- Use the + or - buttons to adjust the percentage (from 10% to 200%).
- Press ENTER to confirm.
- Turn the dial back to AUTO for the changes to take effect.
7. Turning Off the Timer
To stop all automatic watering, turn the dial to OFF. All programmed schedules will be paused until the dial is returned to AUTO.
Maintenance
- Clean the timer's exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Ensure the timer is kept in a dry, indoor environment.
- Periodically check wiring connections for corrosion or looseness.
