Pairing with a Device
- Ensure the keyboard has sufficient power (either via batteries or USB connection).
- Turn on the Bluetooth function on your computer or mobile device.
- On the keyboard, press and hold the Fn key and one of the Bluetooth device keys (1, 2, 3, or 4) for approximately 3 seconds until the corresponding LED indicator flashes rapidly. This puts the keyboard into pairing mode for that device slot.
- On your device, search for Bluetooth devices and select "FILCO Majestouch Convertible2" from the list.
- If prompted, enter the pairing code displayed on your device using the keyboard and press Enter.
- Once paired, the LED indicator for the selected device slot will stop flashing and remain lit for a few seconds, then turn off. The keyboard is now connected.
Switching Between Paired Devices
To switch between up to four paired devices, simply press the Fn key simultaneously with the corresponding Bluetooth device key (1, 2, 3, or 4) that the device is paired to. The keyboard will automatically connect to the selected device.
Operating Instructions
DIP Switch Customization
The keyboard features DIP switches on the underside, allowing for hardware-level customization of certain key functions. To access the DIP switches, ensure the keyboard is disconnected from all devices (both wired and wireless) and gently flip the keyboard over. Use a small, non-conductive tool to adjust the switches.
Image: Underside of the keyboard displaying the DIP switches for key function customization.
| Switch | Function (ON Position) |
|---|---|
| SW1 | Locks and disables the Windows key and Application key. |
| SW2 | Swaps the CapsLock key and the left Ctrl key. |
| SW3 | Swaps the Esc key and the Half-width/Full-width key. |
| SW4 | Changes the Fn key location. (Refer to the detailed diagram on the keyboard's underside for specific mapping.) |
After adjusting the DIP switches, reconnect the keyboard to your device. The changes will take effect immediately.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the surface of the keyboard. For deeper cleaning, you may use a can of compressed air to remove dust and debris from between the keycaps. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Keycap Removal: If necessary, keycaps can be carefully removed using a keycap puller for thorough cleaning. Exercise caution to avoid damaging the switches.
- Battery Replacement: If using Bluetooth with battery power, replace batteries when performance degrades. Refer to the battery compartment for the correct battery type and orientation.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the keyboard in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Troubleshooting
- Keyboard not responding (Wired):
- Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the keyboard and the computer.
- Try connecting the keyboard to a different USB port on your computer.
- Test the keyboard on another computer to rule out a computer-specific issue.
- Keyboard not responding (Bluetooth):
- Check if the keyboard has sufficient battery power.
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your device.
- Verify that the keyboard is paired to the correct device slot (1-4) and that you have selected that slot using Fn + (1-4).
- Try unpairing and re-pairing the keyboard with your device.
- Ensure there are no strong interference sources (e.g., Wi-Fi routers, other Bluetooth devices) nearby that might disrupt the connection.
- Keys not functioning correctly:
- Check the DIP switch settings on the underside of the keyboard to ensure no unintended remapping has occurred.
- Clean any debris or dust from under the affected keycaps.
