6. Bit Installation and Removal
Always ensure the router is unplugged before installing or removing bits.
6.1 Installing a Router Bit
- Loosen the collet nut using the provided collet wrench.
- Insert the router bit into the collet, ensuring at least 3/4 of the shank is seated. Do not bottom out the bit.
- Tighten the collet nut firmly with the collet wrench. For added security, use the shaft wrench to hold the spindle while tightening.
6.2 Removing a Router Bit
- Hold the spindle with the shaft wrench or engage the spindle lock button.
- Loosen the collet nut with the collet wrench.
- Remove the router bit.

7. Depth Adjustment
The PR20EVS features a fast and precise depth adjustment system.
7.1 Macro Adjustment
- Loosen the quick-clamp lever.
- Slide the motor up or down within the base to roughly set the desired depth.
- Tighten the quick-clamp lever to secure the motor.
7.2 Micro Adjustment
- After performing a macro adjustment, use the fine adjustment knob (typically a small wheel or dial) to make precise, small changes to the routing depth.
- Turn the knob clockwise to decrease depth and counter-clockwise to increase depth.

This image highlights the router's depth adjustment system, which allows for both macro (large) and micro (fine) adjustments for precise control over routing depth.
8. Operating Instructions
8.1 Power On/Off
- To turn the router ON, push the red switch to the 'I' position.
- To turn the router OFF, push the red switch to the 'O' position.
8.2 Variable Speed Control
- The variable speed dial is located on the top of the motor housing.
- Rotate the dial to select the appropriate speed for your material and bit type. Lower speeds are generally used for larger bits, harder materials, or when more control is needed. Higher speeds are suitable for smaller bits and softer materials.

This image shows the variable speed dial on the router, which allows users to match the tool's speed to the specific workpiece material and task requirements.
8.3 Routing Techniques
- Always make sure the workpiece is securely clamped.
- Start the router before contacting the workpiece.
- Move the router smoothly and consistently across the workpiece. Avoid forcing the tool.
- For optimal results and to prevent tear-out, always route against the direction of bit rotation.
9. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your router.
9.1 Cleaning
- After each use, unplug the router and clean any dust and debris from the motor housing, base, and collet area using a soft brush or compressed air.
- Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
9.2 Inspection
- Periodically inspect the power cord for damage. Replace immediately if frayed or cut.
- Check the collet and collet nut for wear. Replace if they show signs of damage or inability to securely hold bits.
- Ensure all screws and fasteners are tight.
10. Troubleshooting
