1.2 Battery Installation
The bicycle computer and ATS Speed Transmitter come with pre-installed Lithium Metal CR2032 batteries. If replacement is needed, refer to the Maintenance section.
1.3 Mounting the Device
The Sigma BC 9.16 ATS features tool-free mounting for easy installation.
- Install the Bracket: Secure the bracket for the main unit to your handlebar or stem using the provided mounting material. Ensure it is firmly attached and positioned for optimal viewing.
- Attach the ATS Speed Transmitter: Mount the ATS Speed Transmitter to your bicycle's fork. Position it so that it aligns with the wheel magnet.
- Attach the Magnet: Secure the magnet to a spoke on your front wheel. Ensure the magnet passes closely (within 5mm) to the ATS Speed Transmitter with each wheel rotation.
- Mount the Computer: Slide the main computer unit onto the bracket until it clicks securely into place.

2.1 Basic Functions
The BC 9.16 ATS provides the following cycling parameters:

3. Maintenance
3.1 Water Resistance
The Sigma BC 9.16 ATS is watertight in accordance with the IPX8 standard, meaning it is protected against continuous immersion in water under specified conditions. This ensures reliable performance in various weather conditions.
3.2 Cleaning
To clean your device, use a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the display or casing.
3.3 Battery Replacement
Both the main computer unit and the ATS Speed Transmitter use CR2032 Lithium Metal batteries. When the battery indicator appears on the display or the device stops functioning, replace the battery:
- Carefully open the battery compartment cover using a coin or appropriate tool.
- Remove the old battery.
- Insert a new CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely to maintain water resistance.
4. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Sigma BC 9.16 ATS, consider the following common solutions:
- No Display/Device Not Turning On: Check if the battery is correctly installed and has sufficient charge. Replace the battery if necessary.
- Inaccurate Speed/Distance Readings: Ensure the ATS Speed Transmitter and magnet are correctly aligned and within the recommended distance (typically 5mm). Verify that the tire size setting is accurate.
- No Signal/Intermittent Readings: Check the battery in the ATS Speed Transmitter. Ensure there are no strong electromagnetic interference sources nearby. Re-position the transmitter and magnet if needed.
- Automatic Start/Stop Not Working: Confirm the device is properly mounted and the speed sensor is detecting wheel rotations.
