4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Compatible Cookware

Induction cooktops require cookware made of ferromagnetic material. To check if your cookware is compatible, hold a magnet to the bottom. If the magnet sticks, the cookware is suitable for induction. Examples include cast iron, enameled steel, and stainless steel with a magnetic base.

4.2 Basic Operation

  1. Power On: Place compatible cookware with food on the cooking zone. Plug the unit into a grounded 120V outlet. The unit will enter standby mode.
  2. Start Cooking: Press the Power button (often indicated by an ON/OFF symbol). The LED display will illuminate.
  3. Adjust Power/Temperature: Use the + and - buttons or touch slider (if available) to select the desired power level or temperature setting. The BI001 features a digital display for precise control.
  4. Timer Function: If available, press the Timer button and use + and - to set the cooking duration. The unit will automatically shut off when the timer expires.
  5. Power Off: Press the Power button again to turn off the unit. Remove the cookware. The surface may remain warm for a short period.

4.3 Safety Features

  • Automatic Shut-off: The unit will automatically shut off if no compatible cookware is detected or if left unattended for an extended period.
  • Overheat Protection: If the internal temperature becomes too high, the unit will automatically reduce power or shut down to prevent damage.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

CAUTION: Always unplug the induction range from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.

5.1 Cleaning the Surface

  • Wipe the glass-ceramic surface with a soft, damp cloth and a mild detergent.
  • For stubborn stains, use a non-abrasive ceramic cooktop cleaner.
  • Do not use abrasive pads, harsh chemicals, or scouring powders, as these can scratch or damage the surface.
  • Ensure the surface is completely dry before plugging the unit back in.

5.2 Cleaning the Air Vents

Regularly check and clean the air intake and exhaust vents to ensure proper airflow and prevent overheating. Use a soft brush or vacuum cleaner to remove dust and debris.
