Important Safety Precautions

  4. Connect Power: Insert the power cord into the rice cooker's power inlet, then plug the other end into a standard 100V electrical outlet.

Operating Instructions

The Tiger JBV-S18U offers 10 computerized cooking menu settings. Always use the provided measuring cup for accurate results.

Basic Rice Cooking (Plain Rice)

  1. Measure the desired amount of rice using the provided measuring cup.
  2. Wash the rice thoroughly until the water runs clear.
  3. Place the washed rice into the inner pot. Add water according to the water level markings inside the inner pot, corresponding to the number of cups of rice.
  4. Place the inner pot into the main unit, ensuring it is seated correctly. Close the outer lid securely.
  5. Press the "Menu" button repeatedly until "Plain" is selected on the digital display.
  6. Press the "Start" button. The cooking indicator will illuminate, and the cooking process will begin.
  7. Once cooking is complete, the unit will automatically switch to "Keep Warm" mode. The "Keep Warm" indicator will light up.
  8. Allow the rice to rest for 5-10 minutes in "Keep Warm" mode before serving for best results.

Using Other Menu Settings

The "Menu" button cycles through various cooking options:

  • Quick: For faster cooking of plain rice.
  • Porridge: For preparing congee or rice porridge.
  • Mixed-Sweet: For mixed rice dishes or sweet rice.
  • Brown: Optimized for cooking brown rice.
  • Multigrain: For cooking various grain mixtures.
  • Slow Cook: For slow cooking stews, soups, or other dishes. Refer to specific recipes for cooking times.
  • Steam: For steaming vegetables, fish, or other foods using the steaming plate.

To use these settings, follow the basic rice cooking steps, but select the desired menu option using the "Menu" button before pressing "Start". For "Slow Cook" and "Steam", you may need to adjust cooking times using the "Hour" and "Min" buttons before starting.

Timer Function

The timer function allows you to set a delayed start time for cooking.

  1. Prepare rice and water in the inner pot as usual.
  2. Select your desired cooking menu (e.g., "Plain").
  3. Press the "Timer" button. The timer indicator will flash.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Cleaning the Inner Pot and Accessories:
