Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for optimal performance and longevity of your subwoofer enclosure. Follow these general guidelines for setup:
1. Preparing the Enclosure
Ensure the enclosure is clean and free of debris. The internal wiring terminals are pre-installed. For a secure connection, it is recommended to use crimp-on ring terminals for your speaker wire rather than wrapping bare wire around the bolts.
2. Installing Subwoofers
- Connect your subwoofer's positive terminal to the positive terminal inside the enclosure, and the negative to negative. Ensure connections are secure.
- Carefully place each 8-inch subwoofer into its respective cutout.
- Secure the subwoofers using appropriate wood screws. Exercise caution to avoid screwing through the subwoofer's surround. MDF is soft, so screws will go in easily.
- (Optional) Install speaker grills over the subwoofers for protection, especially if the enclosure will be in a high-traffic area like a car trunk.
3. Placement in Vehicle
Consider the dimensions of the enclosure (16.25"D x 24"W x 10.5"H) to ensure proper fit in your vehicle's trunk or cargo area. To prevent the enclosure from sliding, you may apply self-adhesive Velcro strips to the bottom surface of the enclosure. The hook side of the Velcro will grip the carpet in your trunk, providing stability.

Operating Instructions
Once your subwoofers are securely installed in the enclosure and connected to your amplifier, ensure your amplifier settings are correctly configured for the impedance and power handling of your subwoofers. Refer to your amplifier's manual for specific settings. Gradually increase volume and bass levels to allow the subwoofers to break in and to prevent damage.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the exterior of the enclosure. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Inspection: Periodically check all connections (speaker wires, terminals, mounting screws) to ensure they remain tight and secure. Loose connections can lead to poor sound quality or damage.
- Environment: Keep the enclosure in a dry environment, away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight, to preserve the MDF and carpet finish.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No Sound from Subwoofers | Loose wiring connections; Amplifier off or in protect mode; Incorrect amplifier settings. | Check all wiring connections to the enclosure and amplifier. Verify amplifier power and settings. |
| Distorted Bass | Gain too high on amplifier; Incorrect crossover settings; Damaged subwoofer. | Adjust amplifier gain and crossover settings. Inspect subwoofers for physical damage. |
| Rattling Noise | Loose subwoofer mounting screws; Objects inside the enclosure; Enclosure not stable. | Tighten subwoofer screws. Check inside the enclosure for foreign objects. Secure the enclosure in the vehicle. |
