4.3 Sensor Installation

The magnetic door/window sensors consist of two parts: the main sensor unit and a smaller magnetic unit. They should be mounted on a door or window frame so that when the door/window is closed, the two parts are aligned and within 1/2 inch (1.27 cm) of each other. Use the included double-sided tape for easy installation. For optimal performance, ensure the sensor and magnet are mounted on the same plane.

4.4 Pairing Sensors with Receiver

To pair a sensor with the receiver:

  1. Plug in the receiver.
  2. Press and hold the 'Chime Selection' button on the receiver for approximately 3-5 seconds until you hear a short 'ding' sound and the LED indicator flashes. The receiver is now in pairing mode.
  3. Within 10 seconds, separate the two parts of the door sensor (open the door/window where it's installed). The receiver will chime, indicating successful pairing.
  4. Repeat for additional sensors. Each receiver can be paired with up to 10 transmitters.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Chime Selection

The receiver offers 58 unique ringtones and chimes. Press the 'Chime Selection' button (forward/backward arrows) on the side of the receiver to cycle through the available tunes. The selected chime will play immediately.

5.2 Volume Adjustment

The receiver has 5 volume levels, including a mute option. Press the 'Volume Control' button (speaker icon) on the side of the receiver to adjust the volume. The LED indicator will flash with the sound, providing a visual alert for the hearing impaired.

5.3 System Operation

When a monitored door or window is opened, the magnetic sensor separates, triggering the receiver to play the selected chime and flash its LED indicator. This system can be used for various applications, including:

  • Monitoring entry/exit points in homes or businesses.
  • Alerting caregivers when children or vulnerable individuals open doors.
  • Providing an early warning for potential break-ins.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

Wipe the receiver and sensors with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.

6.2 Battery Replacement (Transmitter)

The door sensors (transmitters) are powered by a 12V 23A battery. If a sensor stops transmitting or its range decreases significantly, the battery may need replacement. To replace the battery:

  1. Carefully open the sensor casing.
  2. Remove the old 12V 23A battery.
  3. Insert a new 12V 23A battery, observing correct polarity.
  4. Close the sensor casing securely.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 No Chime from Receiver

  • Check Power: Ensure the receiver is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet.
  • Check Pairing: Verify that the sensor is properly paired with the receiver. Refer to Section 4.4 for pairing instructions.
  • Check Sensor Battery: The sensor battery (12V 23A) may be depleted. Replace it if necessary.
  • Check Range: Ensure the sensor is within the 400-foot operating range of the receiver. Walls, metal objects, and other electronic devices can reduce the effective range.
  • Sensor Alignment: Ensure the two parts of the magnetic sensor are aligned and within 1/2 inch (1.27 cm) when the door/window is closed.

7.2 Chime Too Loud or Too Quiet

  • Adjust Volume: Use the 'Volume Control' button on the side of the receiver to cycle through the 5 volume levels.

7.3 False Alarms

  • Sensor Mounting: Ensure the sensor and magnet are securely mounted and do not shift when the door/window is closed.
  • Gap Too Large: The gap between the sensor and magnet might be too wide. Adjust their positions to be within 1/2 inch (1.27 cm) when closed.
