Operating Instructions
Adjusting Grind Fineness
The GEFU LORENZO grinder features an adjustable ceramic grinding gear with multiple settings to achieve your desired grind size. The numbers on the dial indicate the fineness, with lower numbers corresponding to finer grinds and higher numbers to coarser grinds.
- Fine Grind (Settings 0-3): Ideal for espresso machines and Turkish coffee.
- Medium Grind (Settings 4-7): Suitable for drip coffee makers and pour-over methods.
- Coarse Grind (Settings 8-11): Best for French press and cold brew.
To adjust the fineness, hold the grinder body steady and rotate the grind adjustment dial on top. Turn clockwise for finer grinds and counter-clockwise for coarser grinds. It is recommended to adjust the grind setting when the grinder is empty to prevent damage to the burrs.

Maintenance
Regular cleaning and proper care will extend the life of your GEFU LORENZO coffee grinder and ensure consistent performance.
- Daily Cleaning: After each use, empty any remaining ground coffee. Use a small brush (not included) to remove coffee dust from the burrs and inside the hopper.
- Deep Cleaning (Monthly or as needed):
- Disassemble the collection container and base. These parts can be washed with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
- The main grinder body and ceramic burr mechanism should not be submerged in water. Use a dry brush or a soft, slightly damp cloth to clean the exterior and the burr assembly.
- Ensure no water enters the grinding mechanism, as this can cause rust or damage to the ceramic burrs.
- Allow all parts to air dry completely before reassembling.
- Storage: Store the grinder in a dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your GEFU LORENZO coffee grinder, refer to the following common problems and their solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Grinder is difficult to turn. | Beans are too hard or jammed; grind setting is too fine; burrs are dirty. | Adjust to a coarser setting; remove beans and clear any blockages; clean the burr mechanism. |
| Inconsistent grind size. | Burr mechanism is loose or damaged; insufficient beans in hopper. | Ensure the grind adjustment dial is securely set; add more beans; inspect burrs for wear or damage. |
| Ground coffee not collecting properly. | Collection container is not securely attached or is full. | Ensure the container is twisted on tightly; empty the container if full. |
