2. Setup and Installation
2.1 Unpacking and Contents
Before beginning installation, ensure all components are present. Your package should include:
- Mr Beams MB360XT LED Spotlight(s)
- Mounting Hardware (screws and anchors)
- User Manual
2.2 Battery Installation
The MB360XT spotlight requires 3 D-cell batteries (not included). For optimal performance and battery life, use high-quality alkaline batteries.
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the spotlight unit.
- Twist the battery cover counter-clockwise to unlock and remove it.
- Insert 3 D-cell batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Replace the battery cover and twist clockwise to lock it securely.

2.3 Mounting Location Selection
Choose a mounting location that provides the desired coverage area and allows the motion sensor to detect activity effectively. Ideal locations include walls, eaves, or other flat surfaces. Consider the following:
- Height: Mount the spotlight at a height that allows for optimal motion detection and light spread.
- Obstructions: Ensure there are no large obstructions (trees, bushes, walls) that could block the motion sensor's field of view or the light beam.
- Weather Protection: While weatherproof, mounting under an eave or overhang can offer additional protection and prolong product life.
2.4 Mounting the Spotlight
Installation is quick and requires no electrical wiring. You will need a drill and a screwdriver.
- Separate the spotlight unit from its mounting base by loosening the small screw at the base and sliding the unit off.
- Hold the mounting base against the desired surface and mark the three screw hole locations.
- Drill pilot holes at the marked locations. If mounting into drywall or masonry, insert the provided wall anchors.
- Secure the mounting base to the surface using the provided screws.
- Align the spotlight unit with the mounted base and slide it back into place. Tighten the small screw to secure the unit to the base.
- Adjust the angle of the spotlight to direct the light beam as needed.

3. Operating Instructions
The Mr Beams MB360XT spotlight is designed for automatic operation. Once batteries are installed and the unit is mounted, it will function without further intervention.
3.1 Automatic Operation
- Motion Detection: The integrated motion sensor will detect movement within its 120° detection angle and up to 30 feet away.
- Light Sensor: The spotlight will only activate when it detects motion AND the ambient light levels are low (e.g., at dusk or night). It will not turn on during daylight hours, conserving battery power.
- Automatic Shut-Off: Once activated, the light will remain on for approximately 20 seconds. If no further motion is detected within this period, the light will automatically turn off. If motion continues, the light will remain on until motion ceases.

3.2 Battery Life Expectancy
With average use of 8-10 activations per day, you can expect approximately 1 year of light from each set of batteries. Battery life may vary based on usage frequency, battery quality, and environmental conditions (e.g., extreme temperatures).
4. Maintenance
4.1 Battery Replacement
When the light output becomes dim or the spotlight stops activating, it is time to replace the batteries. Follow the steps outlined in Section 2.2 Battery Installation to replace the 3 D-cell batteries.
4.2 Cleaning
To maintain optimal performance, periodically clean the lens and motion sensor window with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the unit.
4.3 Weather Resistance
The MB360XT spotlight is rated IPX6 weatherproof, meaning it is protected against powerful jets of water. While designed for outdoor use, extreme weather conditions (e.g., prolonged heavy rain, snow, or ice accumulation) may temporarily affect performance or reduce battery life. Ensure the battery compartment is always securely sealed.
