3.1 Front Panel Layout

4. Initial Setup
4.1 Assembling the Phone
- Attach the base stand to the bottom of the phone unit.
- Connect the coiled handset cord to the handset and the handset port on the phone.
- (Optional) Connect a Plantronics compatible headset to the headset port.
4.2 Connecting to the Network and Power
- Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the LAN port on the phone and the other end to a network switch/hub with Power over Ethernet (PoE) capability. The phone will power on automatically.
- If PoE is not available, connect the universal power adapter to the power jack on the phone and then to a power outlet. Connect an Ethernet cable from your network to the LAN port.
- (Optional) Connect a computer to the PC port on the phone using another Ethernet cable.
The phone will boot up and attempt to obtain network configuration (IP address, etc.) and SIP account information from your network or VoIP service provider. This process may take a few minutes.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Making a Call
- Off-hook Dialing: Pick up the handset, press the Speakerphone button, or press the Headset button. Dial the number and press the SEND soft key or wait a few seconds for automatic dialing.
- On-hook Dialing: Dial the number first, then pick up the handset, press the Speakerphone button, or press the Headset button.
5.2 Answering a Call
- When the phone rings, pick up the handset, press the Speakerphone button, or press the Headset button.
- Alternatively, press the corresponding flashing Line key.
5.3 Ending a Call
Hang up the handset, press the Speakerphone button (if using speakerphone), or press the Headset button (if using headset).
5.4 Call Features
- Hold: During an active call, press the HOLD button. Press the flashing Line key to resume the call.
- Transfer: During an active call, press the TRANSFER button. Dial the new number and press the TRANSFER soft key again (attended transfer) or hang up (blind transfer).
- 3-Way Conferencing: During an active call, press the CONF soft key. Dial the second party's number and press SEND. Once the second party answers, press the CONF soft key again to establish the conference.
- Mute: Press the MUTE button to mute your microphone during a call. Press again to unmute.
- Volume Adjustment: Use the VOLUME +/- buttons to adjust the handset, speakerphone, or headset volume during a call, or ringtone volume when idle.
- Redial: Press the REDIAL button to call the last dialed number.
5.5 Using the Phone Menu
Press the MENU/OK button to access the phone's main menu. Use the Navigation keys to scroll through options and the OK button to select. The soft keys will change functions based on the current menu context.
- Call History: Access a list of dialed, received, and missed calls (up to 200 records).
- Phonebook: Manage up to 500 contacts.
- Settings: Configure various phone parameters, including language, display, and audio settings.
6. Maintenance and Care
- Keep the phone clean by wiping it with a soft, dry cloth.
- Avoid using liquid or aerosol cleaners directly on the phone.
- Do not expose the phone to excessive moisture or extreme temperatures.
