Setup
- Unfold the Game Board: Place the custom game board on a flat playing surface.
- Separate Cards: Separate the "Get Schwifty!" and "Interdimensional Cable TV" cards, shuffle each deck, and place them face down on their designated spaces on the board.
- Banker Selection: Each player rolls one die. The player with the highest roll becomes the Banker. The Banker is responsible for managing the bank's money, properties, Flooble Cranks, and Gooble Boxes. The Banker may also play, but must keep their personal funds separate from the bank's.
- Initial Funds Distribution: The Banker distributes Flurbo currency to each player as follows:
- Two 500 Flurbo notes
- Four 100 Flurbo notes
- One 50 Flurbo note
- One 20 Flurbo note
- Two 10 Flurbo notes
- One 5 Flurbo note
- Five 1 Flurbo notes
- Choose Tokens: Each player selects one of the 6 collectible tokens and places it on the "GO" space.
- Property Deeds: Place the Property Deed cards next to their corresponding spaces on the board.
Operating (Gameplay)
The objective of Monopoly Rick and Morty is to be the last player remaining with money, by driving opponents into bankruptcy through property acquisition and rent collection.
Game Flow
- Starting the Game: Each player rolls both dice. The player with the highest total starts the game. Play proceeds clockwise.
- Player's Turn: On your turn, roll both dice and move your token clockwise around the board the number of spaces indicated. The space you land on determines your action.
- Landing on a Space:
- Unowned Property: You may buy the property for the price printed on the board. If you decline, the Banker immediately auctions it to the highest bidder.
- Owned Property: If another player owns the property, you must pay them rent according to the Property Deed card.
- "Get Schwifty!" or "Interdimensional Cable TV": Draw the top card from the respective deck and follow its instructions.
- Go: Pass "GO" and collect 200 Flurbos from the bank.
- Go to Jail: Move your token directly to the "In Jail" space. You do not collect 200 Flurbos for passing "GO".
- Free Parking: No action required.
- Taxes: Pay the specified amount to the bank.
- Doubles: If you roll doubles, take your turn as usual, then roll again. If you roll doubles three times in a row, you immediately go to Jail.
- Building Flooble Cranks and Gooble Boxes: Once you own all properties in a color group, you can begin building Flooble Cranks (houses) and then Gooble Boxes (hotels) on them to increase rent. Buildings must be erected evenly across a color group.
- Trading: Players can trade properties, money, and "Get Out of Jail Free" cards with each other at any time.
- Bankruptcy: If you owe more money than you can pay, even by selling buildings and mortgaging properties, you are bankrupt and out of the game.
Custom Elements
- Flurbo Currency: The game uses custom Flurbo currency instead of traditional Monopoly money.
- Flooble Cranks & Gooble Boxes: These themed pieces replace houses and hotels for property development.
- "Get Schwifty!" & "Interdimensional Cable TV" Cards: These replace Chance and Community Chest cards, featuring Rick and Morty themed events and directives.
