Introduction
This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your Beetel M64 Caller ID Landline Phone. Setup
1. Unpacking
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure the following items are present:
- Beetel M64 Phone Base
- Handset
- Coiled Handset Cord
- Telephone Line Cord
- User Manual (this document)
- 2 AA Batteries (for LCD display and memory retention)
2. Battery Installation
The M64 requires 2 AA batteries to power the LCD display and retain call memory during power outages. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the phone base. Insert 2 AA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment. Close the battery cover securely.
3. Connecting the Phone
- Connect one end of the coiled handset cord to the handset and the other end to the port labeled HANDSET on the side of the phone base.
- Connect one end of the telephone line cord to the port labeled LINE on the back of the phone base.
- Connect the other end of the telephone line cord to your wall telephone jack.
- Ensure all connections are secure.
Upon successful connection, the LCD display should illuminate, and the phone will be ready for initial setup.
Operating Instructions
1. Basic Functions
- Making a Call: Lift the handset or press the SPEAKER button, then dial the desired number.
- Answering a Call: When the phone rings, lift the handset or press the SPEAKER button.
- Ending a Call: Place the handset back on the cradle or press the SPEAKER button again if using speakerphone.
- Redial: Press the REDIAL button to call the last dialed number.
- Mute: During a call, press the MUTE button to temporarily disable your microphone. Press again to unmute.
- Flash: Use the FLASH button for call waiting or transferring calls (requires service from your telephone provider).
2. LCD Display and Settings
The 16-digit LCD display shows caller ID information, time, date, and menu options. Use the UP/DOWN navigation buttons (indicated as UP/V- and DN/V+ in the OCR) to scroll through menus and adjust settings.
- Setting Date and Time: Press SET/EXT to enter the settings menu. Use UP/DOWN to navigate to Date/Time settings. Press SET/EXT again to select, then use the keypad to enter values and SET/EXT to confirm.
- LCD Display Adjustment: The display angle can be adjusted for better viewing. Gently tilt the display panel to your preferred angle.
3. Caller ID and Call Memory
The M64 stores up to 99 incoming calls and 18 outgoing calls. (Note: Caller ID service must be subscribed from your local telephone company).
- Viewing Incoming Calls: In idle mode, use the UP/DOWN buttons to scroll through the incoming call list.
- Viewing Outgoing Calls: In idle mode, press OUT (or a similar button if available, based on OCR "OUT") to view outgoing calls. Use UP/DOWN to scroll.
- Dialing from Memory: While viewing a number in the incoming or outgoing call list, lift the handset or press SPEAKER to dial the displayed number.
- Deleting Call Records: While viewing a specific call record, press the DEL button to delete it.
4. One-Touch Memory Dialing
The phone features 3 one-touch memory buttons (M1, M2, M3, based on OCR). These allow for quick dialing of frequently used numbers.
- Storing a Number:
- Press STORE.
- Dial the phone number you wish to store.
- Press STORE again.
- Press the desired one-touch memory button (M1, M2, or M3). The number is now stored.
- Dialing a Stored Number: In idle mode, simply press the desired one-touch memory button (M1, M2, or M3). The phone will automatically dial the stored number.
5. Speakerphone Function
The 2-way adjustable speakerphone allows for hands-free communication.
- Activating Speakerphone: Press the SPEAKER button (orange button with speaker icon) to make or answer calls hands-free.
- Adjusting Speaker Volume: During a speakerphone call, use the UP/DOWN buttons to adjust the speaker volume.
- Switching to Handset: During a speakerphone call, simply lift the handset to switch to private conversation.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the phone's surface. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Location: Place the phone on a stable, flat surface away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and excessive moisture.
- Battery Replacement: If the LCD display becomes dim or memory functions are lost during a power outage, replace the 2 AA batteries.
- Cord Care: Avoid tangling or stretching the coiled handset cord and telephone line cord excessively to prevent damage.
Troubleshooting
