Setup and Installation
The Ancona AN-1260 Slim Plus range hood is designed for under-cabinet mounting and offers both top and rear venting options. Professional installation is recommended.
1. Pre-Installation Checks
- Ensure the mounting surface is structurally sound and can support the weight of the range hood.
- Verify that the electrical supply (120V/60Hz) is accessible and meets local electrical codes.
- Confirm the chosen venting method (top or rear) and ensure ductwork is properly sized (10 in. x 3-1/4 in. rectangular). This unit is for external ventilation only; internal air recirculation is not possible.
- Unpack all components and inspect for any shipping damage.
2. Mounting the Range Hood
The range hood is designed to fit standard kitchen cabinetry. Use the provided screws and rubber bushings for secure attachment.

- Carefully measure and mark the mounting points on the underside of the cabinet or the wall for rear venting. Refer to the dimension diagram for precise measurements.
- Drill pilot holes for the mounting screws.
- If using top venting, ensure the cabinet has a corresponding opening for the ductwork. If using rear venting, prepare the wall opening.
- Lift the range hood into position and secure it using the provided screws and rubber bushings. Ensure the unit is level.
3. Electrical Connection
- Connect the range hood to a grounded 120V/60Hz electrical outlet.
- Ensure all wiring connections are secure and comply with local electrical codes.
4. Ductwork Connection
- Attach the vent/damper assembly to the chosen exhaust opening (top or rear) on the range hood.
- Connect the ductwork from the range hood to the external vent. Ensure all connections are sealed to prevent air leaks.

Fan Operation
- Power On/Off: Press the power button to turn the fan on or off.
- Speed Selection: Use the speed control buttons to select one of the three available fan speeds (Low, Medium, High).
- Low Speed: Ideal for simmering or light cooking, providing quiet operation at 2 sones.
- Medium Speed: Suitable for average cooking tasks.

Lighting Operation

Cleaning the Aluminum Mesh Filters
The 3-layer aluminum mesh filters are designed to trap grease and are dishwasher safe for easy cleaning.

- Removal: Gently push the latch on each filter and pull downwards to release it from the hood.
- Cleaning: Place the filters in a dishwasher or wash them by hand using hot water and a mild detergent. Ensure all grease and residue are removed.
- Drying: Allow the filters to dry completely before re-installing.
- Re-installation: Insert the dry filters back into their slots, ensuring they click securely into place.
Frequency: Clean filters monthly, or more frequently depending on cooking habits.
Cleaning the Stainless Steel Exterior
- Wipe the exterior surfaces with a clean cloth dampened with warm water and a mild, non-abrasive detergent.
- For best results and to maintain the stainless steel finish, wipe in the direction of the grain.
- Avoid using abrasive cleaners, steel wool, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish.
- Dry thoroughly with a soft cloth to prevent water spots.
LED Light Replacement
The LED lights are designed for long life. If replacement is necessary, contact Ancona customer support for compatible replacement parts and instructions.
Troubleshooting
