The FROG @Ease Smart Chlor Cartridge is designed to simplify hot tub water care. This system works in conjunction with a mineral cartridge within an in-line feeder to provide clean, clear, and soft water with reduced chlorine usage. It helps eliminate organic contaminants and maintains consistent chlorine levels, requiring less frequent shocking and daily maintenance.

Setup and Installation

Before installing the Smart Chlor Cartridge, ensure your hot tub water is balanced according to the Hot Tub Water Balancing Guide. The Smart Chlor Cartridge is designed for use with the FROG @Ease Mineral Cartridge in an in-line system.

Initial Water Balancing

Proper water balance is crucial for the effectiveness of the FROG @Ease system. Follow these steps:

1. Test Your Fill Water for Hardness: Take a sample of your fill water to your dealer for testing. If over 250 ppm, treat your fill water.
2. Test for Metals: After the hot tub is filled, take a sample of that water to your dealer to check for metals. If metals are present, use a metal out product.
3. Balance Water: Always balance in order: Total Alkalinity, then pH, then Water Hardness.
   • Total Alkalinity (TA): Maintain 80-120 ppm. Adjust first for easier pH balancing.
   • pH: Maintain 7.2-7.8. Adjust after TA is balanced.
   • Water Hardness: Maintain 150-250 ppm. Adjust only when pH is between 7.2 and 7.8.
4. Add adjustment chemicals in small increments, following label directions carefully.
5. Wait 6 hours between adjustments to allow chemicals to work.
6. If balancing takes longer than 2 days, add a chlorine shock to maintain sanitizer levels.

When Total Alkalinity is 80-120 ppm, pH is 7.2-7.8, and Water Hardness is 150-250 ppm, your water is balanced.

Cartridge Installation (In-Line System)

The FROG @Ease Smart Chlor Cartridge is designed to fit into your hot tub's in-line system alongside the blue Mineral Cartridge. Refer to your hot tub's manual for specific instructions on accessing the in-line system.

1. Remove Existing Cartridges: Carefully remove the existing cartridges from the in-line system.
2. Set Mineral Cartridge: Set the blue Mineral Cartridge to the #6 setting.
