Installation

The CRT MegaPro is designed for mobile installation in vehicles. Ensure the mounting location is secure, allows for proper ventilation, and does not obstruct the driver's view or vehicle controls.

  1. Mounting the Bracket: Secure the mounting bracket to a stable surface in your vehicle using the provided screws.
  2. Connecting the Antenna: Connect a suitable CB antenna (not included) to the antenna connector on the rear of the radio unit. Ensure a good ground connection for optimal performance.
  3. Power Connection: Connect the supplied power cable to the 12V or 24V DC power source of your vehicle. The radio automatically detects the voltage. Ensure correct polarity (red to positive, black to negative).

Basic Operation

  1. Power On: Rotate the VOL/OFF knob clockwise until the unit powers on and the display illuminates.
  2. Adjust Volume: Continue rotating the VOL/OFF knob to set a comfortable listening volume.
  3. Set Squelch: Rotate the SQ knob clockwise until background static disappears. For automatic squelch, press the ASQ button.
  4. Select Channel: Use the Up/Down buttons on the microphone or the numeric keypad to select your desired channel (e.g., Channel 19 for trucker channels).
  5. Select Mode: Press the MODE button to switch between AM (Amplitude Modulation) and FM (Frequency Modulation) as required by your region or communication partner.
  6. Transmit: Press and hold the PTT button on the microphone, speak clearly into the microphone, then release the PTT button to listen for a response.
