Setup and Installation
The CISA DGT Vision safe is designed for secure installation within furniture or anchored to a wall/floor. Proper installation is crucial for security.
Choosing an Installation Location
- Select a discreet and secure location, preferably out of plain sight.
- Ensure the mounting surface (wall or floor) is structurally sound and can support the weight of the safe and its contents.
- Avoid locations with excessive humidity or extreme temperatures.
Anchoring the Safe
The safe features pre-drilled holes for anchoring.
- Position the safe in the desired location.
- Mark the drilling points through the pre-drilled holes on the back or bottom of the safe onto the mounting surface.
- Move the safe and drill appropriate holes in the marked positions.
- Insert suitable anchors (not always included, check package contents) into the drilled holes.
- Reposition the safe and secure it using the provided or appropriate screws. Tighten all screws firmly.

Operating Instructions
Initial Battery Installation
The electronic keypad requires 1.5V alkaline button cell batteries.
- Locate the battery compartment, typically on the inside of the safe door.
- Insert the batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
- Close the battery compartment cover.

Opening the Safe for the First Time
Upon initial setup, the safe typically has a factory-set default code (e.g., "1234" or "0000"). Refer to the specific instructions provided with your safe for the exact default code.
- Enter the default code on the keypad.
- Press the confirmation button (often marked with a key or checkmark symbol).
- The lock will disengage, and you can open the door.

Setting/Changing Your Personal Code
It is highly recommended to change the default code immediately after the first opening.
- With the safe door open, locate the internal reset button (often a small button on the inside of the door or near the battery compartment).
- Press the reset button. The keypad will usually emit a beep or light up to indicate it's ready for a new code.
- Enter your new personal code (typically 4-8 digits).
- Press the confirmation button.
- Re-enter your new personal code and press the confirmation button again to confirm.
- Test the new code with the door open before closing it.
Closing and Locking the Safe
To lock the safe, simply close the door. The locking bolts will automatically engage.

Maintenance
Battery Replacement
The keypad features indicator lights to warn of low battery power. Replace batteries promptly when this warning appears to avoid being locked out.
- Open the safe using your code.
- Locate the battery compartment on the inside of the door.
- Remove the old batteries and dispose of them responsibly.
- Insert new 1.5V alkaline button cell batteries, observing correct polarity.
- Close the battery compartment.
External Emergency Power
If batteries completely drain and you cannot open the safe, use the external emergency power cable.
- Locate the external power input port on the keypad (often a small socket).
- Connect the emergency power cable to this port and to a fresh 9V battery (not included).
- While holding the emergency power, enter your code to open the safe.
- Replace the internal batteries immediately after opening.
General Care
- Clean the safe's exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Do not lubricate the electronic components or keypad.
- Periodically check the anchoring bolts for tightness.
Troubleshooting
Safe Does Not Open with Code
- Incorrect Code: Ensure you are entering the correct code. Try again carefully.
- Low Batteries: Check the battery indicator. If low, replace batteries or use the external emergency power cable.
- Keypad Malfunction: If the keypad does not respond at all, ensure batteries are correctly installed and charged. If issues persist, contact customer support.
Keypad Does Not Respond
- Dead Batteries: Replace batteries.
- Incorrect Battery Installation: Verify polarity.
Safe Door Does Not Close Properly
- Obstruction: Check for any items blocking the door or locking bolts.
- Misalignment: Ensure the safe is installed on a level surface and the door hinges are not damaged.
