Always read and understand all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations, and specifications provided with this power tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury.
- Work Area Safety: Keep the work area clean and well-lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust.
- Electrical Safety: Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling, or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges, or moving parts.
- Personal Safety: Always wear eye protection. Use safety glasses, goggles, or a face shield. Wear hearing protection when operating for extended periods. Dress properly; do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep hair and clothing away from moving parts.
- Tool Use and Care: Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. Disconnect the plug from the power source before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools.
- Secure Workpiece: Always secure the workpiece firmly before beginning any operation to prevent movement during use.
- Maintenance: Maintain power tools and accessories. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, and any other condition that may affect the power tool’s operation.

3.2 Installing/Changing Router Bit
- Disconnect Power: Always ensure the tool is unplugged from the power source before installing or changing bits.
- Loosen Collet Nut: Use the provided wrench to loosen the collet nut.
- Insert Bit: Insert the shank of the desired router bit into the collet. Ensure the bit is inserted far enough to provide a secure grip, but do not bottom it out.
- Tighten Collet Nut: Hand-tighten the collet nut, then use the wrench to firmly secure the bit. Do not overtighten.
3.3 Adjusting Cutting Depth
- Loosen Lock Lever: Locate and loosen the depth adjustment lock lever or knob on the side of the base.
- Set Depth: Carefully lower or raise the motor housing until the router bit reaches the desired cutting depth relative to the base plate. Use a ruler or depth gauge for precision.
- Tighten Lock Lever: Securely tighten the depth adjustment lock lever or knob to prevent any movement during operation.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 General Operation
- Prepare Workpiece: Ensure the material to be routed is securely clamped to a stable workbench.
- Connect Power: Plug the router machine into a suitable power outlet (240 Volts AC).
- Start Motor: Hold the router firmly with both hands (if applicable, or one hand for this lightweight model) and switch the power button to the 'ON' position. Allow the motor to reach full speed before contacting the workpiece.
- Begin Routing: Guide the router smoothly along the desired path. Maintain a consistent feed rate. Avoid forcing the tool, as this can lead to poor cut quality and motor strain.
- Finish Operation: Once the cut is complete, lift the router clear of the workpiece and switch the power button to the 'OFF' position. Wait for the bit to stop rotating completely before setting the tool down.
4.2 Trimming and Routing Techniques
- Edge Trimming: For flush trimming, ensure the bearing on the router bit rides smoothly along the edge of the workpiece or template.
- Grooving/Dadoes: Use a straight bit and a guide fence for accurate straight cuts. Make multiple shallow passes for deeper grooves to reduce strain on the tool and bit.
- Shaping Edges: Select appropriate profile bits for decorative edges. Practice on scrap material first to achieve the desired finish.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
After each use, disconnect the tool from the power supply. Use a soft brush or compressed air to remove dust and debris from the motor vents and around the collet area. Wipe down the exterior with a clean, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
5.2 Storage
Store the router machine in a dry, secure location out of reach of children. Protect it from direct sunlight, moisture, and extreme temperatures. If storing for an extended period, ensure the collet is clean and lightly oiled to prevent rust.
5.3 Inspection
Regularly inspect the power cord for damage, cracks, or fraying. Check the router bits for sharpness and damage; dull or damaged bits can cause kickback and poor cut quality. Ensure all screws and fasteners are tight. If any part is damaged, have it repaired by a qualified service technician before further use.
6. Troubleshooting
| Issue | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Tool does not start | No power supply; Faulty power switch; Damaged cord | Check power outlet and connections; Test power switch; Inspect cord for damage and replace if necessary. |
| Poor cut quality / Rough edges | Dull or damaged router bit; Incorrect cutting depth; Too fast feed rate | Replace or sharpen router bit; Adjust cutting depth; Reduce feed rate for smoother cuts. |
| Excessive vibration | Loose router bit; Bent router bit; Damaged motor bearings | Ensure bit is securely tightened; Replace bent bit; Contact service for bearing inspection. |
| Overheating motor | Overloading the tool; Blocked ventilation slots; Prolonged continuous use | Reduce load; Clear ventilation slots; Allow tool to cool down periodically. |
