Installation Guide

1. Verify Cabinet Type

These hinges are specifically designed for Face Frame Cabinets. A face frame cabinet has a frame around the cabinet opening to which the hinges are mounted. They are not suitable for frameless (European style) cabinets where hinges mount directly to the cabinet walls.

2. Prepare the Door and Cabinet

  1. If replacing old hinges, remove them and clean the mounting areas.
  2. For new installations, mark the positions for the hinge cups on the cabinet door. The cup size is 35mm in diameter and 11.5mm deep. Ensure the door thickness is between 14-22mm.
  3. Drill the 35mm holes for the hinge cups using a Forstner bit.

3. Attach Hinges to Door

  1. Insert the hinge cups into the drilled holes on the cabinet door.
  2. Secure the hinges to the door using the provided screws.

4. Attach Mounting Plates to Cabinet Frame

  1. Position the mounting plates on the cabinet face frame, aligning them with the hinges attached to the door.
  2. Mark the screw holes for the mounting plates.
  3. Pre-drill pilot holes if necessary to prevent wood splitting.
  4. Secure the mounting plates to the cabinet frame using the provided screws.

5. Mount the Door

  1. Align the hinges on the door with the mounting plates on the cabinet frame.
  2. Click or slide the hinge arms onto the mounting plates until they are securely engaged.

Operating Instructions

Soft-Close Functionality

These hinges feature an integrated soft-close mechanism. When the cabinet door is pushed to close, the soft-close damper engages, slowing down the door's movement for the last few inches. This prevents slamming, reduces noise, and protects both the cabinet and the door from wear and tear.

Adjustments

The hinges allow for three-way adjustments (forward/backward, up/down, and side-to-side) to ensure perfect door alignment and gap consistency. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to make these adjustments.

  • Forward & Backward Movement: Adjust the screw closest to the cabinet frame to move the door in or out.
  • Up & Down Movement: Adjust the screws on the mounting plate to raise or lower the door.
  • Side-to-Side Movement: Adjust the screw on the hinge arm to move the door left or right.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the hinges periodically with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and grime. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that could damage the finish.
  • Lubrication: The soft-close mechanism is designed for long-term performance and typically does not require lubrication. If the hinge action becomes stiff, a small amount of silicone-based lubricant can be applied to the pivot points, but avoid spraying directly into the soft-close mechanism.
  • Tightening: Periodically check all mounting screws and adjustment screws to ensure they are snug. Retighten if necessary, but do not overtighten.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Door does not close fully or is crooked.Improper alignment; loose screws.Adjust the hinge screws (forward/backward, up/down, side-to-side) until the door is properly aligned and closes completely. Tighten all screws.
Soft-close mechanism not working.Mechanism obstructed or damaged.Check for any debris obstructing the soft-close piston. If damaged, the hinge may need replacement.
Hinge is squeaking.Lack of lubrication or dirt buildup.Clean the hinge and apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to the pivot points.
Door is sagging.Loose mounting screws or worn hinges.Tighten all mounting screws. If the problem persists, the hinges may be worn and require replacement.
