3. Setup Instructions

  1. Verify Compatibility: Ensure your device, such as the HP Simplesave 1TB MD1000H, requires a 12V DC power input and a current draw of 3A or less. Using an incompatible adapter may damage your device.
  2. Connect the DC Output Plug: Carefully insert the round DC output plug of the UpBright adapter into the corresponding power input port on your HP Simplesave external hard drive. Ensure a snug and secure connection.
  3. Connect the AC Power Cord: Attach the AC power cord to the adapter's input socket. Then, plug the other end of the AC power cord into a standard wall outlet (100-240VAC, 50/60Hz).

4. Operating Instructions

Once the adapter is properly connected to both the wall outlet and your device, the device should power on automatically or be ready to be powered on via its own power button. The adapter is designed for continuous operation within its specified limits.

  • Safety Features: The adapter includes Over Voltage Protection (OVP), Over Current Protection (OCP), and Short Circuit Protection (SCP) to safeguard both the adapter and your connected device from electrical hazards.
  • Normal Operation: The adapter may become warm during extended use. This is normal. However, if it becomes excessively hot, disconnect it immediately and refer to the troubleshooting section.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Disconnect the adapter from all power sources before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the adapter in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Avoid tightly wrapping the cables to prevent damage.
  • Inspection: Periodically inspect the adapter and cables for any signs of damage, such as frayed wires, cracked casing, or bent pins. If damage is found, discontinue use immediately.
