Safety Information
Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, hearing protection, and gloves when operating the hammer drill. Ensure the work area is clear of obstructions and well-lit. Disconnect the battery pack before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing the tool. Read and understand all instructions and safety warnings provided with the product before use.
Setup
Battery Installation and Removal
- To install the battery pack, align the battery pack with the rails inside the tool's handle and slide it firmly into the tool until it locks into place.
- To remove the battery pack, press the battery release button and pull the battery pack out of the tool handle.
Charging the Battery
- Plug the charger into an appropriate outlet.
- Insert the battery pack into the charger. The charging indicator light will illuminate.
- A fully discharged battery typically charges in approximately 60-90 minutes.
Attaching the Side Handle
The 360° side handle provides additional control and stability, especially during high-torque applications or when using larger drill bits. To attach, loosen the handle grip, slide it over the chuck and onto the tool's collar, then tighten the grip securely.
Operating Instructions
Selecting Operating Mode
Rotate the collar near the chuck to select between three modes:
- Drill Mode: For drilling into wood, metal, and plastic.
- Hammerdrill Mode: For drilling into masonry, concrete, and brick.
- Driver Mode (Clutch Settings): For driving screws, with 11 clutch settings to prevent over-driving or stripping.
Adjusting Speed Settings
Use the 3-speed selector switch located on top of the tool to match the speed to the application:
- Speed 1 (Low): 0-450 RPM (Drill Mode), 0-500 RPM (Hammerdrill Mode) - For high torque applications and larger diameter drilling.
- Speed 2 (Medium): 0-1300 RPM (Drill Mode), 0-1500 RPM (Hammerdrill Mode) - For general drilling and driving.
- Speed 3 (High): 0-2000 RPM (Drill Mode), 0-2250 RPM (Hammerdrill Mode) - For fast drilling in smaller diameters.
Chuck Operation
The 1/2-inch ratcheting chuck allows for quick and secure bit changes. To open the chuck, rotate the front sleeve counter-clockwise. Insert the drill bit and rotate the sleeve clockwise until the bit is firmly gripped. The ratcheting mechanism will click when tightened.
LED Light Modes
The LED light can be adjusted using the switch on the base of the tool:
- Low Brightness: Provides minimal illumination.
- Medium Brightness: Offers increased visibility for most tasks.
- Spotlight Mode: Activates a high-brightness light that stays on for 20 minutes, ideal for extended work in dark areas.
Maintenance
Cleaning
Regularly clean the tool's ventilation slots to prevent overheating. Use a soft brush or dry cloth to remove dust and debris. Do not use water or chemical cleaning agents. Keep the chuck clean and free of debris for optimal bit gripping.
Storage
Store the tool and batteries in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Always remove the battery pack from the tool before storage. Use the provided hard case for protection during transport and storage.
Troubleshooting
Tool Not Operating
- Ensure the battery pack is fully charged and properly inserted into the tool.
- Check if the forward/reverse button is in the center (lock) position.
- Verify that the tool is not overheated. Allow it to cool down if necessary.
Battery Not Charging
- Confirm the charger is properly plugged into a working outlet.
- Ensure the battery pack is correctly seated in the charger.
- Check the charger's indicator lights for error codes (e.g., hot/cold delay).
