Introduction

This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and proper use, assembly, and maintenance of your Chicco Cortina CX Travel System. This system includes a stroller and a KeyFit 30 Infant Car Seat, designed for infants from 4-30 lbs. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the product.

Safety Information

Always prioritize the safety of your child. Failure to follow these instructions could result in serious injury or death.

• Never leave your child unattended in the stroller or car seat.
• Always use the 5-point harness system correctly adjusted to your child's size.
• Ensure the stroller brakes are engaged when stationary.
• Do not overload the storage basket; refer to specifications for weight limits.
• Ensure the car seat is securely installed in the vehicle using either the LATCH system or vehicle seat belt, and verify the recline level indicator.
• Do not use accessories or replacement parts other than those approved by Chicco.
• Read all labels on the product for additional safety warnings.

Setup and Assembly

1. Stroller Assembly

1. Unfolding the Stroller: Release the folding latch and unfold the stroller until it locks into the open position.
2. Attaching Wheels: Securely attach the front and rear wheels as per the instructions provided in the separate assembly guide. Ensure they click into place.
3. Attaching Parent Tray: Snap the parent tray onto the stroller frame.

2. KeyFit 30 Infant Car Seat Base Installation

The KeyFit 30 Infant Car Seat base can be installed using either the vehicle's LATCH system or the vehicle's seat belt.

1. Positioning the Base: Place the car seat base on the vehicle seat.
2. Adjusting Recline: Use the ReclineSure spring-loaded leveling foot to adjust the base to the correct recline angle. Verify the RideRight bubble level indicators on either side of the seat show the correct level.

3. Securing with LATCH: Attach the LATCH connectors to your vehicle's lower anchors. Pull the SuperCinch LATCH tightener strap to secure the base firmly.

4. Securing with Seat Belt (if no LATCH): Route the vehicle's lap and shoulder belt through the designated belt path on the base. Engage the built-in belt locking system to secure the base.

5. Final Check: Ensure the base does not move more than one inch side-to-side or front-to-back at the belt path.

3. Attaching KeyFit 30 Infant Car Seat to Base

1. Align the KeyFit 30 car seat with the car seat base.
2. Lower the car seat onto the base until it clicks securely into place.

3. Verify the car seat is firmly attached by gently pulling upwards.

4. Attaching KeyFit 30 Infant Car Seat to Stroller

1. Ensure the stroller seat is fully reclined.
2. Align the KeyFit 30 car seat with the stroller's child tray.
3. Lower the car seat onto the stroller until it clicks securely into place.

4. Verify the car seat is firmly attached by gently pulling upwards.

Operating Instructions

1. Stroller Operation

• Seat Recline: The stroller seat offers multiple recline positions, including a flat position suitable for newborns. Use the recline mechanism to adjust the seat angle. The "Memory Recline" feature remembers the last position.
• Harness System: Secure your child with the 5-point harness. Adjust straps for a snug fit.
• Canopy: Adjust the removable canopy with a peekaboo window for sun protection and visibility.
• Brakes: Engage the independent toe-tap locking brakes on the rear wheels when the stroller is stationary.
• Handle Adjustment: The push handle is height-adjustable for user comfort.
• Storage Basket: Utilize the large storage basket, accessible from the front or back, for essentials.
• Folding: The stroller features a one-hand fold mechanism. Ensure the child is removed and follow the folding instructions carefully until the stroller is compact and self-standing.

2. KeyFit 30 Infant Car Seat Operation

• Harness Adjustment: The 5-point harness features one-pull adjustment for quick and secure fitting.
• Infant Insert: For smaller babies (4-11 lbs), use the thickly-padded infant insert for additional support.
• Canopy: Adjust the car seat canopy for sun protection.
• Removing from Base/Stroller: Press the release lever/button to detach the car seat from its base or the stroller.

Maintenance

• Fabric Care: Machine wash stroller fabrics separately in cold water on a delicate cycle. Do not use bleach. Drip dry.
• Hard Parts Cleaning: Plastic or metal parts may be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth. Towel dry immediately.
• Wheel Maintenance: Periodically check wheels for debris and ensure smooth rotation. Lubricate axles if necessary.
• Inspection: Regularly inspect all parts for wear, damage, or loose fasteners. Discontinue use if any damage is found.

Troubleshooting

• Stroller difficult to fold/unfold: Ensure all components are correctly aligned and the seat is in the proper position for folding. Check for obstructions.
• Wheels squeak: Clean wheels and axles. Apply a silicone-based lubricant to moving parts if needed.
• Car seat not clicking into base/stroller: Verify that the car seat is correctly aligned with the attachment points. Ensure no fabric or debris is obstructing the connection. Apply firm, even pressure until a click is heard.
• Harness difficult to adjust: Check for twists in the straps. Ensure the harness adjuster is fully released before attempting to tighten or loosen.
