3. Setup

3.1. Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the bottom of the camera.
  2. Open the compartment cover.
  3. Insert the battery, ensuring the contacts align correctly.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.
  5. Charge the battery fully before first use using the provided charger.

3.2. SD Card Insertion

The Leica SL (Typ 601) features two SD card slots, supporting UHS-II and UHS-I standards.

  1. Locate the SD card slot cover on the side of the camera.
  2. Open the cover.
  3. Insert the SD card(s) into the designated slots with the label facing the correct direction until it clicks into place.
  4. Close the cover securely.

3.3. Lens Attachment

The camera uses a Leica L mount.

  1. Remove the body cap from the camera and the rear cap from the lens.
  2. Align the red dot on the lens with the red dot on the camera's lens mount.
  3. Gently insert the lens into the mount and rotate it clockwise until it clicks into place.
  4. To remove the lens, press the lens release button on the camera body and rotate the lens counter-clockwise.
