1. Product Overview

3. Setup

1. Unpack: Carefully remove the OptiGrill XL and all accessories from the packaging. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.
2. Placement: Place the grill on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from walls or heat-sensitive materials. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
3. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wipe the exterior of the grill with a damp cloth. Remove the grill plates and drip tray (see Maintenance section for removal instructions) and wash them with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. Reinsert the clean plates and drip tray.
4. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet. The grill is now ready for use.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Pre-heating

Before placing food on the grill, it must be pre-heated. Close the grill and press the power button. Select your desired cooking program (e.g., Beef, Chicken, etc.) or the manual mode. The indicator light will cycle through colors (purple to blue) during pre-heating. Once pre-heating is complete, an audible beep will sound, and the light will turn green, indicating it's ready to add food.

4.2. Automatic Cooking Programs

The OptiGrill XL features 9 automatic programs for precise cooking:

• Beef

• Chicken
• Fish
• Seafood
• Sandwich
• Vegetables

Simply select the program corresponding to your food. The grill's sensors will detect the thickness and automatically adjust the cooking time.

4.3. Cooking Level Indicator

The indicator light on the handle changes color to show the cooking progress:

• Green: Start of cooking (after pre-heating).
• Yellow: Rare.
• Orange: Medium.
• Red: Well-done.

An audible beep will sound as each cooking level is reached. You can open the grill at any time to check or remove food without resetting the cooking cycle.

4.4. Frozen Food Mode

For frozen items, select the snowflake button before choosing your food type program. This mode ensures frozen food is cooked thoroughly and regains its flavor.

4.5. Manual Mode

The manual mode allows you to grill fruits, vegetables, or other recipes with adjustable temperature control. Press the 'M' button to activate manual mode, then use the temperature control button to set your desired heat level.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your OptiGrill XL.

1. Cool Down: Always unplug the grill and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
2. Remove Drip Tray: The drip tray is located at the front of the grill. Slide it out and empty any collected fat or liquids.
3. Remove Grill Plates: Press the release buttons located on the side of the grill to detach the non-stick cooking plates.
4. Cleaning Plates and Drip Tray: Both the grill plates and the drip tray are dishwasher safe. Alternatively, they can be washed by hand with warm, soapy water and a non-abrasive sponge. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before reattaching.
5. Clean Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the grill with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads. Never immerse the main unit in water.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your OptiGrill XL, consider the following common solutions:

• Grill Not Turning On: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a functional electrical outlet. Check if the outlet is receiving power.
• Food Not Cooking Evenly: Ensure the grill plates are properly inserted and locked into place. Verify that the correct cooking program for the food type and thickness has been selected.
• Excessive Smoke: Ensure the drip tray is correctly positioned and empty. Excessive fat on the plates can cause smoke; ensure plates are clean before use. Avoid using excessive oil or butter directly on the plates.
• Indicator Light Not Responding: If the indicator light is not functioning as described, try unplugging the unit for a few minutes and plugging it back in to reset.
