Setup
Powering the Unit
The RCD-108 can be powered by AC power or batteries.
AC Power
- Connect the supplied AC power cord to the AC IN jack on the unit.
- Plug the other end of the AC power cord into a standard wall outlet.
Battery Power
- Open the battery compartment cover located on the bottom of the unit.
- Insert the required number of batteries (type not specified, typically D-cell) according to the polarity markings (+/-) inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
Initial Power On
Press the POWER button to turn the unit on. The display will illuminate.

Controls Overview

- POWER: Press to turn the unit on or off.
- VOLUME: Rotate to adjust the sound output level.
- FUNCTION: Press repeatedly to cycle through input sources: CD, USB, FM, Bluetooth, AUX.
- NEXT (►►|): Skips to the next track/station.
- BACK (◄◄): Skips to the previous track/station.
- STOP (■): Stops playback of CD or USB media.
- PLAY/PAUSE (►||): Starts or pauses playback of CD or USB media.
- TIME/PROG: Used for programming CD/USB tracks or setting time (if applicable).
- P-DN / P-UP: Used for navigating programmed tracks or preset radio stations.
- REP: Activates the repeat playback function for CD or USB media.
- USB JACK: Port for connecting a USB flash drive for MP3 playback.
- PHONES: 3.5mm jack for connecting headphones.
- AUX IN: 3.5mm jack for connecting external audio devices.
CD/MP3 Playback
- Open the CD compartment lid.
- Carefully place a CD or MP3 CD onto the spindle, label side up.
- Close the CD compartment lid.
- Press the FUNCTION button until 'CD' appears on the display.
- Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to begin playback.
- Use NEXT or BACK to skip tracks.
- Press STOP to end playback.
USB Playback
- Insert a USB flash drive into the USB JACK.
- Press the FUNCTION button until 'USB' appears on the display.
- The unit will automatically begin playing MP3 files from the USB drive.
- Use NEXT or BACK to skip tracks.
- Press STOP to end playback.
FM Radio Operation
- Press the FUNCTION button until 'FM' appears on the display.
- Press and hold NEXT or BACK to automatically scan for the next available station.
- Press NEXT or BACK briefly to manually tune the frequency step by step.
- Use P-DN or P-UP to navigate through preset stations (if programmed).
Bluetooth Operation
- Press the FUNCTION button until 'BT' or 'Bluetooth' appears on the display. The unit will enter pairing mode, indicated by a flashing Bluetooth icon or message.
- Enable Bluetooth on your mobile device (smartphone, tablet, etc.) and search for available devices.
- Select 'RCA RCD-108' from the list of found devices.
- Once paired, the unit will confirm the connection, and you can begin playing audio from your device.
- Control playback (play/pause, next/back) either from your connected device or using the unit's controls.
Auxiliary Input
- Connect an external audio device (e.g., MP3 player, smartphone) to the AUX IN jack using a 3.5mm audio cable (not supplied).
- Press the FUNCTION button until 'AUX' appears on the display.
- Start playback on your external device. The audio will be routed through the RCD-108 speakers.
- Adjust the volume using the VOLUME knob on the unit or the volume control on your external device.
Headphone Use
To listen privately, plug standard 3.5mm headphones into the PHONES jack. The speakers will automatically mute.
Maintenance
Cleaning the Unit
