Control Panel Overview

Setup
Before first use, ensure all filters are removed from their protective plastic packaging and installed correctly.
- Open the front cover of the air purifier by gently pulling from the top or sides.
- Remove the pre-filter, AOC Carbon Filter, and True HEPA Filter.
- Remove all plastic packaging from the filters.
- Insert the True HEPA Filter first, ensuring the "Air Flow" arrow points towards the unit.
- Place the AOC Carbon Filter on top of the HEPA filter.
- Re-attach the pre-filter.
- Close the front cover securely.
- Plug the power cord into a standard 120V AC outlet.

Operating Instructions
The Winix 5500-2 offers various modes and settings for optimal air purification.
Power On/Off
Press the On/Off button to turn the unit on or off.
Mode Selection
Press the Mode button to cycle through the following modes:
- Auto Mode: The unit automatically adjusts fan speed based on real-time air quality detected by the Smart Sensor. The air quality indicator light (blue for good, orange for fair, red for poor) will change accordingly.
- Sleep Mode: When the room is darkened, the unit automatically activates Sleep Mode, operating at a quiet, energy-efficient speed. All indicator lights, except the moon icon, will dim or turn off.

Fan Speed
Press the Fan Speed button to manually select desired fan speed (Low, Medium, High, Turbo). Note: Manual fan speed overrides Auto Mode.
PlasmaWave Technology
Press the PlasmaWave button to enable or disable PlasmaWave technology, which attacks pollutants at a molecular level.
Timer
Press the Timer button to set the unit to operate for 1, 4, or 8 hours before automatically turning off.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your air purifier.
Filter Care
The Winix 5500-2 features a Check Filter indicator light that illuminates when it's time to clean or replace filters.
- Washable Pre-Filter: Clean every 14 days or as needed. Vacuum or wash with water. Ensure completely dry before re-installing.
- Washable AOC Carbon Filter: Clean every 3 months or as needed. Vacuum or wash with water. Ensure completely dry before re-installing.
- True HEPA Filter: Replace every 12 months or as needed. This filter is NOT washable.
