2. Kit Contents and Part Identification

3. Assembly Instructions
Follow these steps carefully for optimal assembly. Refer to the diagrams in the physical instruction booklet for detailed part placement.
- Preparation: Carefully remove all parts from the sprues using a hobby knife or sprue cutters. Smooth any rough edges with fine-grit sandpaper or a modeling file.
- Cockpit Assembly: Assemble the cockpit components (seat, control panel, pilot figure if included). Paint these parts before gluing them into the fuselage halves.
- Fuselage Assembly: Join the fuselage halves, ensuring proper alignment. Use plastic cement sparingly. Allow adequate drying time.
- Wing Assembly: Attach the upper and lower wing sections. Ensure the wing spars (if present) are correctly seated.
- Engine Nacelles: Assemble and attach the engine nacelles to the fuselage/wings.
- Landing Gear: Assemble the landing gear struts and wheels. Decide whether to build the model with landing gear extended or retracted.
- External Stores: Assemble and attach the various external stores (bombs, missiles, fuel tanks) to the wing pylons.
- Final Details: Attach smaller details such as antennas, pitot tubes, and the canopy.
Recommended Tools: Hobby knife, sprue cutters, fine-grit sandpaper, plastic cement, tweezers, paint brushes, masking tape.
4. Decal Application
The decal sheet provides markings for various aircraft configurations. Choose your desired markings before application.

- Ensure the painted surface is clean and dry. A gloss coat is recommended for best results.
- Cut out the desired decal as close to the edge of the design as possible.
- Dip the decal in lukewarm water for 10-20 seconds until it slides freely on its backing paper.
- Carefully slide the decal onto the model surface.
- Position the decal using a wet paintbrush or cotton swab.
- Gently blot away excess water with a soft cloth or tissue.
- Apply a decal setting solution to help the decal conform to surface details.
- Allow decals to dry completely before applying a clear topcoat (matte or gloss, depending on desired finish).
5. Painting Guide
This kit is supplied unpainted. Refer to historical references or the box art for accurate color schemes. Common colors for the A-10 Thunderbolt II include various shades of grey (e.g., Light Ghost Gray, Dark Ghost Gray) for the airframe, black for tires, and metallic colors for engine exhausts.
