  • Temperature: The adapter may become warm during extended use. This is normal operating behavior. Ensure adequate ventilation around the device and display.
  • Firmware Updates: Periodically check for firmware updates using the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter app (available from the Microsoft Store) on a compatible Windows device. Updates can improve performance and compatibility.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Wireless Display Adapter, consider the following:

  • Connection Failure:
    • Ensure the adapter is correctly plugged into both the HDMI and USB ports of your display.
    • Verify that your display is set to the correct HDMI input.
    • Restart both your source device (laptop, tablet) and the display.
  • Windows 11 Compatibility: If using Windows 11, the adapter may require a firmware update to function correctly. It is recommended to first connect and update the adapter using a Windows 10 device, then attempt connection with a Windows 11 device.
  • Firmware Update Issues: If the adapter is unable to connect to perform a firmware update, try connecting it to a different compatible Windows 10 device. Ensure the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter app is installed and up to date.
  • No Display/Broken Logo: If the display shows a broken Microsoft logo or no signal, try resetting the device by unplugging both HDMI and USB connections for a few seconds, then reconnecting.
  • Lag or Choppiness: Ensure your source device is within the recommended 23-foot range. Reduce interference from other wireless devices if possible.
  • Audio Issues: Check your device's sound settings to ensure audio is directed to the Wireless Display Adapter.
