5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Uniden BC365CRS, refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:

  • No Power: Ensure the AC adapter is securely connected to both the unit and a working 110V power outlet.
  • Poor Reception/Static:
    • Extend the antenna fully.
    • Adjust the antenna's height or angle.
    • Move the scanner away from potential sources of electrical interference (e.g., computers, TVs, fluorescent lights).
    • Adjust the Squelch knob. If the squelch is set too high, it may block weaker signals.
  • Cannot Hear Police/Fire/Public Safety:
    • Verify that the frequencies for your local agencies are correctly programmed.
    • Confirm that your local agencies are still using conventional analog transmissions. Many agencies have switched to digital or trunking systems, which this scanner does not support.
    • Important: This scanner may not work in all areas due to changes in communication systems. If you are unsure if this scanner is suitable for your area, please contact Uniden support.
  • Alarm Not Sounding: Check that the Alarm Slide Switch is in the ON position and the alarm time is correctly set.
