3. Setup
Follow these steps to set up your CADAC Safari Chef 30 LP grill:
- Unpack: Remove all components from the carry bag.
- Unfold Legs: Place the main burner unit on a stable, level, non-combustible surface. Unfold the three legs until they click securely into place.
- Connect Gas: The Safari Chef 30 LP requires a 50 mBar gas connection. Connect a suitable gas hose and regulator (not included) to a refillable gas cylinder. Ensure all connections are tight and leak-free. Refer to the diagram below for connection types.
- Install Fat Pan: Place the removable fat pan into the main burner unit. This pan collects grease and also acts as a wind deflector.
- Choose Cooking Surface: Place your desired cooking surface (pot stand, BBQ grid, or flat grill plate) onto the fat pan.

The grill can be connected to various refillable gas bottles using a hose and pressure regulator.
4. Operating Instructions
The Safari Chef 30 LP offers multiple cooking options:
Lighting the Grill:
- Ensure the gas control knob on the grill is in the "OFF" position.
- Open the valve on your gas cylinder.
- Press and turn the gas control knob counter-clockwise to the "HIGH" position.
- Immediately press the blue piezo ignition button. You should hear a click and see the burner ignite. If it doesn't ignite after a few attempts, turn the gas off, wait 5 minutes, and try again.
- Once lit, adjust the flame intensity using the gas control knob.

The grill features an integrated heat distributor for even cooking and an automatic piezo ignition for easy starting.
Cooking Modes:
- BBQ Grilling: Use the ribbed BBQ grid for grilling meats, fish, and vegetables. The fat pan below collects drippings.
- Flat Plate Cooking: Use the flat grill plate for frying eggs, bacon, pancakes, or delicate items.
- Pot/Pan Cooking: Place the pot stand on the burner unit to use pots, kettles, or pans for boiling, simmering, or stir-frying. The dome lid can also be used as a wok.

- Ensure the burner ports are clear of debris. Use a soft brush if needed.
