Safety Instructions

WARNING: To avoid serious injury, always follow basic safety precautions, including the following:

  • Read all instructions before using the appliance.
  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been dropped or damaged in any manner.
  • To avoid possible electric shock, special care should be taken since water is used in the use of this pond pump.
  • Do not attempt to repair or modify the pump yourself. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
  • Always disconnect the pump from the power supply before performing any maintenance or cleaning.
  • Ensure the power outlet is protected by a Residual Current Device (RCD) with a tripping current not exceeding 30 mA.
  • The pump is designed for continuous immersion in water. Do not run dry, as this can damage the motor.
  • Keep children and pets away from the pond area and electrical connections.

Setup Instructions

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the pump and all accessories from the packaging. Verify that all components are present: pump, 10-meter cable, and a swivel hose connector with adapters for 1 1/2", 1 1/4", 1", and 3/4" hoses.
  2. Hose Connection: Attach the appropriate hose adapter to the pump's outlet (1 1/2" male thread). Securely connect your pond hose to the adapter.
  3. Placement (Submerged Installation): For submerged use, place the pump horizontally on a stable, level surface at the bottom of your pond. Ensure the pump is fully submerged in water.
  4. Placement (Dry Installation): The pump is suitable for dry installation, but it is not self-priming. For dry installation, the pump's inlet must be below the water level of the pond to ensure continuous water flow to the pump.
  5. Electrical Connection: Connect the pump's power plug to a properly grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the outlet is protected by an RCD. The 10-meter cable provides flexibility for placement.
  6. Initial Check: Before powering on, ensure all connections are secure and the pump is correctly positioned according to your chosen installation method.

Operating Instructions

  1. Starting the Pump: Once properly installed and connected, plug the pump into the power outlet. The pump will start automatically.
  2. Monitoring Flow: Observe the water flow to ensure it is consistent and meets your requirements. The pump has a maximum flow rate of 8000 liters per hour and a maximum head height of 4 meters.
  3. Automatic Protection: The pump is equipped with an automatic shut-off mechanism. If the water level drops too low (dry running protection) or if the impeller becomes blocked, the pump will stop operating to prevent damage. It will resume once the issue is resolved and power is reconnected.
  4. Stopping the Pump: To turn off the pump, simply disconnect it from the power supply.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your AquaForte EC-8000 pump.

  1. Disconnect Power: Always unplug the pump from the power source before any maintenance.
  2. Cleaning the Impeller and Housing: Periodically remove the pump from the water and inspect the impeller and pump housing for debris accumulation. The pump can handle particles up to 6 mm, but larger debris or excessive buildup can reduce efficiency or cause blockages.
  3. Accessing the Impeller: To access the impeller, gently twist the pump casing a quarter turn to the left to unlock and remove it. Clean the impeller and its chamber thoroughly with water. Remove any trapped debris.
  4. Checking the Ceramic Shaft: Inspect the ceramic shaft for any signs of wear or damage. Replace if necessary.
  5. Reassembly: Reassemble the pump by aligning the casing and twisting it back into place until it locks. Ensure all parts are securely fitted before returning the pump to operation.
  6. Winter Storage: During winter months, if the pond is likely to freeze, remove the pump from the pond, clean it thoroughly, and store it in a frost-free location.
