The Vidpro MH-300 is a motorized pan head designed to add 360-degree panning motion to your real-time videos and time-lapse photography. Setup

1. Powering the Device

The MH-300 requires 2 AAA batteries (not included) for operation. Alternatively, it can be powered via a 5V USB power source using the provided USB cable.

  1. Battery Installation: Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the MH-300. Insert 2 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the compartment securely.
  2. USB Power: Connect the small end of the USB power cable to the DC 5V port on the side of the MH-300. Connect the larger USB end to a 5V USB power adapter or a computer USB port.

2. Mounting Your Camera or Device

The MH-300 features a 1/4"-20 camera screw on its top surface for direct attachment of cameras. For smartphones and action cameras, use the provided adapters.

  • For Cameras (e.g., Mirrorless, Compact Camcorders): Screw your camera directly onto the 1/4"-20 screw on top of the MH-300 until secure.
  • For Action Cameras (e.g., GoPro): Attach the action camera adapter to the 1/4"-20 screw on the MH-300. Then, mount your action camera onto the adapter.

  • For Smartphones: Attach the mini tilt head to the 1/4"-20 screw on the MH-300. Then, attach the smartphone holder to the mini tilt head. Secure your smartphone in the holder. The mini tilt head allows for angle adjustment.

3. Mounting on a Tripod (Optional)

The MH-300 has a 1/4"-20 socket on its base, allowing it to be mounted on a tripod or other support system.

  1. Screw the MH-300 onto the 1/4"-20 screw of your tripod or monopod until it is firmly attached.

Operating Instructions

The MH-300 is controlled using the included infrared (IR) remote control. Ensure the remote has working batteries and is pointed towards the IR sensor on the pan head for proper communication.

1. Powering On/Off

Locate the ON/OFF switch on the side of the MH-300. Slide it to the "ON" position to power on the device. Slide it to "OFF" to power off.

2. Understanding LED Indicators

The MH-300 features an LED indicator that changes color based on the selected mode:

  • Red LED: Indicates Continuous Rotation mode.
  • Blue LED: Indicates Time-Lapse mode.
  • Red + Blue LED: Indicates 120° Swing (Side-to-Side) mode.

3. Remote Control Functions

The IR remote control allows you to select operating modes, adjust rotation direction, and set speed.

  • Power Button: Turns the MH-300 on or off.
  • Mode Selection Buttons:
    • Continuous Rotation: Activates continuous 360-degree rotation (Red LED).
    • 270° Side-to-Side: Activates 270-degree panning back and forth (Red + Blue LED).
    • Time-Lapse: Activates time-lapse specific rotation (Blue LED).
  • Direction Buttons: Changes the rotation direction (clockwise/counter-clockwise).
  • Speed Buttons: Adjusts the rotation speed (Slow, Medium, Fast).

Note: For optimal remote performance, ensure a clear line of sight between the remote and the MH-300's IR sensor.

Maintenance

  • Keep the device clean by wiping it with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Avoid exposing the MH-300 to extreme temperatures, moisture, or direct sunlight for extended periods.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble the unit, as this will void the warranty and may cause damage.
  • When not in use for extended periods, remove the AAA batteries to prevent leakage.
